ya i agree with xxxprophacy that gears 2 does have a much better story than gears 1. mgs4 should be in the top 5 and resistance has a much better story than resistance 2. also bioshock should be way ahead of halo3....

Aside from this generation, I loved the first two Halo's campaigns and the original Killzone. If we start talking multiplayer then Team Fortress 2 will definitely be on the list, as would Halo 3. I didn't include them because of their platforming elements, but Uncharted and Ratchet ToD would be on the list, also.
Oh, and for best demo? The Darkness.... but I never got around to buying the actual game, so...

I meant people who had played the game. Ideally if you haven't played the game then it shouldn't be in your list I would agree.
damn i might have to check out Moderen warfare2 if COD4 was that good i never tried cod 4 out i always thought that the campaign mode would be dull and the MP was were it was at for those types of games

The COD4 campaign is fun but it's not very long unless you intend to go through on Veteran at a later date. Probably about 6-8 hours play at most.
Yeah, COD 4 is SHORT for the single player campaign. Though it is a brief ride, it is an outstanding brief ride.

If you haven't rolled CoD4's single player campaign, do so now. It's the best FPS console gamers have seen in years, period. Simply brilliant.
It's somewhat sad that MP fans don't take the time to witness one of the best war FPS SP campaigns ever... It's up there with the HL series.

God, it's depressing that this list fills so easily. Try the "top 15" list for genres like PnC, Platformers or even jRPGs.
I don't even mind shooters, but auto aim just makes me blech. CoD is swimming in it on consoles, and I just can't stand it. I'm happy for those who don't care, and while I rarely complain about things I don't like (since tastes will vary, obviously), this thread only serves to highlight the ridiculously heavy weighting shooters have gotten this generation.
