We don't sell nearly as many Wii's as we could if we unbundled them... sometimes they stay in the store for nearly a week before they get purchased... supply seems to have met demand or demand is teetering off a bit when bundled.

Here in the Netherlands it's the exact opposite. It used to be evenly divided, later, the Wii had a lot more shelfspace than the other consoles.

But now, the Wii has less shelfspace than even the PS3. Many stores have a very small Wii space tucked away in the back.

This is probably not representative of the rest of the world though. The Netherlands is mainly HD and PC fans. Nintendo never was all that big here.

My local wall mart has been pushing Nintendo more than Sony since the gamecube days.

this is somthing

the walmart i go to is like this

ps3,ps2, psp all in one section
360 in one section
wii in 2 section
ds in one section

my WalMart changed the end cap to just the Wii console, no other games. Just the console. With like 6 a shelf making it a total of 18 total Wii's on the end cap with a giant sign saying $249.29 above.

My wal-mart has 6 glass cases all approximately 6 to 8 feet wide. They also just reversed the Sony and the Nintendo section. Nintendo gets the first two cases closest to the main walkway. The next case is xbox (seems to be the more popular titles in this case) then there is a gap with two end caps and a walkway to cut into the next aisle (the end caps usually focus on old guitar hero versions that they can't get rid of and have on clearance I'm talking to you GH III and GH: Aerosmith) Then another xbox section (this one seems like it has mostly "family friendly titles")
The next section has PS2 and PSP divided almost equally then the last one has PS3 all but the the bottom row has an over flow of PSP and PS2.

Target is the one that has the worst videogame section, they have extended Wii into an entire wall, and cut xbox into the smallest section with Sony getting an entire wall divided between their 3 platforms.

Walmart is definitely more of a Wii type store than a 360 or PS3 one. Lower price point, better target for the casual market.

That happened in my local Wal-mart as well, the Wii and DS stuff used to be facing the towel isle, and ps2 and ps3 stuff was facing the electronics, but they swapped them a few weks ago.

on a related note, the store I work at (a game store, not wal-mart) pissed of our Sony rep, because we took down our PSP endcap (that had a broken psp) in order to put up a wii endcap, he kept asking why we took it down, and being a jackass.
