Killzone 2
Uncharted 2
Ratchet and Clank
Heavy Rain
inFamous

That is only what we know so far for 2009, we still have E3.
|
Heavy Rain looks interesting, the others are mehhhhhhhhhh
|
Are you joking?
KZ2, already has average of 91% Uncharted 2 is a sequal to a game with a GR average of 90% and they have a track record Ratchet is sequal to a high 80's game from a dev with a track record We don't really know much about Heavy Rain inFamous has had good previes, but is still uncertain how good it will be

Reviews have nothing to do with it, despite how nice kz2 might look, it's not selling nearly as well as a lot of people have predicted and maybe that's because there are a lot of people like me out there, it's the same with a lot of other games, I'm not much into the "zomg look how nice that game looks!!!!" thing anymore since I've been staring at Crysis for years(or PC games in general.) I'm not a fan of dual analog shooter games basically, I'm a fan of other genres on consoles besides shooter type games. well, a wiimote works pretty well too if the game does it right like MP3 and the upcoming Conduit, I'm more about controls when it comes to shooter. Also, lets face it, Ratchet is not on the same lvl as Super Mario Galaxy if you have access to multiple systems like me.
It's the simple fact that we don't know much about Heavy Rain that has me interested in it =P. inFamous looks boring, certainly has cool effects though.

People without ps3s ?
The game didn't get good reviews on looks alone. It's the only fps to get me hooked online since cod 1 and cs.
|
no, just the people who don't care about kz2 as much, there have been better fps since CoD and CS as well, so I don't know why you brought those up, and dual analog is ass for FPS no matter how good you are with it, can't get the same movement.
|
So i presume you haven't played killzone 2 then ? Dual Analogues work great in that game.
I've played pc fps games since Doom 2. And i brought it up because none has captuvated me ONLINE since those two. Did you even bother to read my post ? I mean it seems like you completely ignore all my points.

It controls fine, not mouse fine but it's not bad, but is still nowhere as entertaining as L4D or TF2 on steam, then again, you are kinda right on the fact that not a lot of FPS are interesting these days. We did give it a full week non stop to see if that recipt on the wall would end up back at the store and in the end, it turned out pretty generic despite how amazing it looks and we didn't buy the game for it's graphics and when we can get better control and game play on PC, we returned it to save some money for something else.
It's great that you enjoy it, I'm all pro for game supporters, there are just probably a lot of people like me is all I'm saying. The game looks great in motion though.

Left 4 dead is really only good in lan. It's awesome at that though.
Team fortress 2 feels like a pathetic version of killzone 2 and i'm kinda not very happy that i bought it.. Everything feels underpowered and weak. Anyways that's just my opinion and i'm sure a lot of people feels differently.
I'm not saying there aren't interesting games.. just none that managed to get me addicted to the online portion.
And if anything it's not generic. Infact people has bitched all over the internet about how non generic it is.
When i say it controls well, I mean it. I mean it in such a fashion where i'd say that it wouldn't control better with a mouse. Just different. I've reached the point where I can play pretty equally well on both fronts. Sure, for precision targeting analogues can be a bitch. But developers has finally started making their console games targeted and mapped accordingly to analogue sticks. Not to mention the design of the game. Therefore, it plays great. Not fine.

L4D Lan? why do you say that? this is steam we are talking about, it's great no matter how you play it, just make it friends only and you won't get assholes that TK for no reason. You probably haven't played the updated version yet of TF2 because it just says your achievement is 0 out of like 170 I think, give it a try again, that game is fun and this is coming from somebody who's been playing TF since the Quake mod days.
I know people have being saying that KZ2 is not genereic blahblahblah but I think they have to do it, I mean, I would if I was hyped about the game, followed it for almost 5 years after it's announcement, and it supposed to be an end all FPS or something to justify everything but luckily I wasn't too hyped about it. I was in fact wondering about how much better I'd do with a mouse when I was doing multiplayer the whole way but because pretty much everybody was on DS3, it was still pretty fair, you can say I'm being anal but it still doesn't do what I want it to do and it never will so I'm not being fair on the control part tbh, but I'm all about control and precision in FPS and I'm sure you can understand that being a CS player, no matter how good you are with dual analog, it's not the same. It's not a bad game, they did a fantastic job, I just ended up returning it anyways and I'm only saying I'm probably not by myself when I say that.
|
Because left 4 dead is centered around that. Sure it can be alright in regular multiplayer. But to really be awesome, your mates have to be there playin with ya.
And maybe the reason you think tf 2 is great, is because you've been playing the original since back then.
N finally.. I like it's not a twitch shooter the same way CS is. I've gone away from playing like that. I like more intense but enjoyable/sort of relaxing experiences.
@garnett concidering i'm usually among the top players, not too hard.

why would they have to be where I am? ^^;;;;;;; we all have mics lol. they don't have to be next to me for it to be awesome, it's simply a really good game. I just find it hard to find your points to be valid when you don't own L4D nor have you any achievements in TF2 on steam since TF2 is basically what you would describe as a more intense but enjoyable/sort of relaxing experience where CS is just intense and L4D can be down right hilarious =), just doesn't seem like you've actually given them actual attempts to be fair on the subject. There are simply better or cheaper online experiences than KZ2 for people like me, maybe just not to your taste is all, it's not really an argument, just a difference in opinion, and I know I'm not alone on my end was the only point in that sentence, I'm not trying to convince you that KZ2 is bad, it just doesn't have the grounds to tie me down to it.
