Yeah, I read that part.

It doesn't manage to exclude Gears from being on this list.

I simply don't see Gears as a beautiful game in any manner of the word. Detailed, stunningly detailed in fact, but beautiful or inspired is one thing it isn't.

There are subterranean sequences, and sequences in the dark, which are starkly beautiful in ways that few games gesture at, much less succeed at.

But seriously.

Why the Hell is Vesperia on this list?

haha, come on man. Have you read half my posts here? I'm biased. Have you played Vesperia by any chance?

But I did forget about those subterranean sections. I can still go with the argument that its not consistent enough, but Gears certainly did have its moments.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Does FABLE 2 really look that good? Those shots are stunning.

I see you don't remember accusing me of never playing the game because I didn't see it as being as earth-shattering as you treated it. Yes, I've played it. No, it doesn't belong on this list.

I'm surprised you put Bioshock on here, then. How do you reconcile certain sections - particularly Neptune's Bounty and the Medical Plaza?

Those last 2 pics don't happen in the game >_> unless that's in the DLC

Former something....

No Love for Banjo?? That game looks stunning....

How do I reconcile them? Simply, that they have an air of the time period Bioshock tried so hard to recreate. The water effects in particular are great as well, but even sections like the medical plaza and Neptune's bounty have the art styling that the rest of the game has as well. Its and inspired style, one very hard to recreate in art itself, much less in an entire, expansive game. And it succeeded, even in the areas of waste and where the art style itself was almost hidden.

Accused, huh. If you want to go with that, sure, and hell I'm gonna treat most any Tales game as earth shattering. There will always be people who don't agree with one's general opinion about a game they consider godly. The fact that I don't remember our argument though probably means it wasn't very interesting.
