Forums - Nintendo - Is Virtua Tennis 2009 getting WM+ shoehorned in? IGN preview

IGN did a preview.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/969/969451p1.html

As you read through it, it is obvious they are talking about the HD versions with the huge array on online features, crisp graphics, lively audiences, graphical effects, etc - BUT WAIT -

"it's the Wii iteration that SEGA's most proud of – and it's easy to see why. Every one of the features listed in this preview is present and correct in the Wii version (okay, bar the 1080p bit – Wii owners will have to make do with 480p), and Virtua Tennis's debut on Nintendo's console is looking quite spectacular. "

What IS missing from the preview is Wii Motion Plus support.  EA has been proudly boast and displaying their Grand Slam Tennis with WM+ for a couple weeks now so why isn't Sega proudly displaying theirs?   Sega is neither confirming nor denying WM+ support at the moment.

Are they shoehorning it in at the last moment in an effort to not be couped by EA?   Looks like it.  And they need to because as awesome as this sounds with full online support and beautiful graphics, I'll only be getting one tennis game and WM+ support trumps online support for me.

Thoughts?

I think Grand Slam Tennis has everything over Virtua Tennis if you own a Wii, it'd be a mistake at this stage to get VT over GST.

GST has been built ground up exclusively for the Wii and also for the Wii MotionPlus. It will be the definitive tennis game for quite a few years to come.
