Forums - Gaming - How tough would it be to swap this controllers analog sticks into the DS3?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HEV7QA/ref=asc_df_B000HEV7QA760014?smid=A3LJ5WMKNRFKQS&tag=shopzilla_rev_1566-20&linkCode=asn

I have one of the sitting at home, the analog sticks are interchangable (the tops of them), so whether you prefer concave or convex you can have the best of both worlds.

I was trying to find a tutorial or something on the net but I am having no luck. I just want to switch the convex sticks from my DS3 and put the interchangable sticks from this controller into it. It seems easy enough since they are pretty much the same thing. Anyone have any info for me?

not hard at all i take apart my ds3 alot i modded the triggers with some rubber bands to stop them from making the loud clankly noises it came out will my r2 and l2 are quieter than the r1 and l1

i was going to make a thread on how it did it with pics but later figured that this site has no respect for BHR-3

unscrew the 5 screws in the back use a flat head b/c there on there tight press in between the analog sticks theres a lock there check the ps3 owners manual to see were to press then it will open theres only 1 screw under the battery that holds the mother board down unscrew it and move the trigger assembly's out of the way the whole unit with the sticks will come out they simply just pop them off

PM if u have problems

I experimented with an old Sixaxis once and I couldn't figure out how to get the triggers back in. That is the part I know I will have issues with.

By the way, how can no one have respect for the "Prophet"?

Pics would be fantastic.

I was bored and decided to just take a controller apart. When it was time to put it back together I realized that the triggers come out completely and the springs popped out as well. I gave up instantly and chucked it in the trash.

If I knew how to reassemble the triggers I would be fine. I just want to be sure on how to do it before I pry open my only Dualshock 3.

I can take apart, mod, etc... PSPs all day long, but ask me to take apart a stupid controller and I am just lost.

Kind of sad really.

No luck finding pictures of my Alienware Gamepad disassembled.

I want to know if the analog sticks will be 100% similar and that I can just do a quick easy swap. This pad works on PS2 and has the whole R3 L3 thing but I have this feeling that I will wind up opening them both up and realizing I need to do work just to get them to work.
