Forums - Nintendo - What is the best DS RPG title?

I bought the DS back in November to get my RPG fix while at university, and i have to say im very happy with the purchase. Everyone knows that Ninty handheld has an amazing RPG library, i personally only bought and played FF IV, TWEWY, Fire Emblem and Etrian Odyssey (mainlu due lack of time, and money) but im planning to pick up Chrono Trigger tommorow (and maybe something else if i see a good deal) so i can play it while being abroad for a week.

In your opinion which is the best DS RPG, and why? I personally cant tell yet since i  havent played enough titles on that platform. But i really loved TWEWY for being so different and original.

Chrono Trigger

Secret of Mana should be on DS.

i have got quite afew ds titles to get through, but at the moment I'm spending ALOT of time on Final fantasy 4 and final fantasy tactics A2.

Final fantasy 4 is a great rpg with a really good story and definantly worth picking up. and tactics A2 is an srpg, even though the story to it is basic at best you'll still find yourself spending countless hours on it.

I'm looking forward to playing valkyrie profile and chrono trigger on it as i hear they are outstanding rpgs..

... but i can't tell you the best as i've only had my DS for 2 months at most

Chrono Trigger

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

haven't played the ds version but I feel confident saying chrono trigger

Suikoden DS deserves at least 1 play through.
Especially good when you have no time for grinding.

Pretty long game even without the grind part.

Mario and Luigi 2 is fun, too.

FFIV DS. Or Chrono Trigger.

DQIV is also a blast, but I hear DQV is better.
