Forums - Gaming - Only 6% of PS3 owners have bought Killzone 2

Can I ask, whats the point in this thread ?

Around the Network

Thats actually impressive

94 percent of console owners wank at least once a week but whos counting

assumption is the mother of all f**k ups

The 6% of Killzone 2 for its first 6 week sales is very small in comparison to other exclusive current generation console shooter titles. Halo 3 = 33% attach rate on X360. Gears of War and Gears of War 2 both have attach rates around 1 in 5 copies of the game sold per console sold. One in three X360 owners own Halo 3.

The attach rate of Halo 3 was reportedly as high as 50% in its first month or two when X360 install base was around 14 million, 7 million copies of Halo 3 had been sold. The 10 millionth copy of Halo 3 will roughly conincide with 30th millionth X360 console sold.

Gears of War and Gears of War 2 both have attach rates around 1 in 5 copies of the game sold per console sold.

Someone mentioned in here that RPGs do not sell well on X360. That is not true. That only applies to niche JRPGs which are an acquired taste. The mainstream Western RPGs: Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect and Fable 2 have sold exceptionally well on the XBox 360. PS3 is a JRPG console where these niche games sell more due to the large Japanese install base in Japan of PS3. X360 is a WRPG console where the USA buy a lot of the WRPG titles on X360.

MGS 4 had sold attach rate on PS3 is around 1 in 5 copies of that game sold in relation to PS3 console owners. Attach rate for MGS 4 for its first month was around 25 to 30% but that attach rate has slightly dropped off over the 10 months to around 20%.

correction 7% within 6 weeks.

1.32m copies of Killzone 2 divided by 21.55 million PS3s = 6.15%. Around 6%.

sigh....

GTA SA- 17.78m sold=12.7% of ps2 user base

basically what your trying to say base on your argument is that GTA SA sold really bad since only 12.7% of ps2 user base bought it.

True.

But same can be said about Madworld for the wii or Halo wars.

I'll contribute to that percentage once it gets a price drop. Too many games on the table.

Edit: and it's only been like a month or so..

Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2:  No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

learn math. 21.55 - 3 = 18.55 1.32/18.55 = 7.12 about 7
