And this really applies to all, as we are all human. You become disconnected with reality. You no longer appreciate life, love, all that stuff. You treat most people as your servants. You think love can only be expressed in material gifts. Also, you remain a member of the republican party, but as the people who are really pulling the strings. You control the poorer members, convincing them of complete hogwash. I would know, I've heard my grandfather go on enough rants. |
Oddly enough, I have seen a vast array of reactions from people earning great wealth ... A company I recently interviewed at was owned by an individual who was what I would refer to as a real environmentalist and built his company around his principles, it became very successful and he has (about) the most generous benefits package I have ever seen from a company that is not an oil company; at the same time he donates a ton to charity and is (from my understanding) very active inside the community.
The value systems people hold are as diverse as anything else in our society, and depending on the values people hold will determine how they react to a given situation.
On top of this, people who seek out power for the sake of having power are within all political parties at a very high level; realistically, the Democrats are no better/worse than the Republicans they just convince people of different "Hogwash" to get them to do what they want them to do.
