Forums - Microsoft - Is this X360 exclusive Fall 2009 lineup enough to battle Sony?

MS seems to intend to give up on gaming :
- they cut losses in gaming divisions
- they're closing their only few studios
- they don't announce any exclusive anymore
- they don't buy any timed exclusive anymore

I think they're right since there's no way thier lineup could compete with the PS3 lineup anyway considering their lack of studios.

With a big install base, 360 should end its life well anyway, since even with no game there will be many people buying the cheapest console.

This thread is bad enough, please stop trolling.

Anything you don't like is trolling??? He explained his views quite clearly and fairly, and frankly I agree with him. You sir are the troll

^ I might be naive in thinking nobody could seriously state that it looks like MS is giving up the gaming business, and truly believe that. But even so I would be far from being a troll :)

MS couldn't pull out of gaming, they're far too engrained. Plus thir IP catalogue is far more relevant to todays gaming market than Sony ever has been.

Sonys basically just Gran Turismo, MS is Halo, Forza, Gears of War, Fable II.

That was one of Sonys biggest mistakes, they relied far too much on Final Fantasy and GTA...and they're Xbox franchises now.

Not naive at all. Anyone who says that is either trolling, or has no clue what they're talking about.

"We'll be making our announcements at E3"

"Whoa buddy! No exclusives! YOU GAVE UP!"

"We'll talk after E3"

MS giving up on gaming now, of all times?....LOL.

Guys you're kidding yourselves if you think that MS is going to announce much for release this holidays. Gears was announced at GDC and shipped Nov. The only things they announced at last E3 that released same year was Lips and Scene It - quality AAA there. Even MS themselves have stated that they are focussing on things further out.

all this preemptive optimism for E3 might result in a lot of you xbots eating crow -- have you not considered that perhaps MS doesn't have anything up it's sleeve this time, perhaps it has run out of steam and that perhaps these statements regarding E3 are merely false incentives for you to buy a 360?

 Are you not hearing?

If Alan Wake, Halo ODST and Forza 3 comes out this year it will beat Sony's lineup (who has only Uncharted 2, Infamos, Heavy Rain and Ratchet).

It's more likely to be a repeat of last year, where PS3 fans were saying 360 had no games, then ultimately it had the better lineup for the year.

Isn't it funny how Sony can announce a Ratchet game at the end of March and have it release the same year, but if MS does it 60 days later, it's because they've run out of steam.

Oh and what a horrible holiday season Microsoft had in 08.
