How about calling it the PS4?
That would be so epic.

I Think the xbox has always been the halo console. Notice the shape and color of it on button green ring. If it weren't for halo xbox would have failed. Now for the name of the next xbox only someone high up in its Electronic Entertainment Device division would have an idea on what its name will really be.
Love is whats most important.
I think Nintendo and M$ are working on their next console..sony's too busy with their 10yr plan.

The next surprise from MS could simply be they give up on the gaming market.
They cut jobs and closed studios recently, they stopped announcing things and their other businesses are all in trouble (beaten by firefox / safari in web browsers, beaten by Ipod with Zune, losing market share to Open office with MS Office and so on...).
Gaming was never MS core business, I think it's quite clear for them now they won't be able to compete with Sony due to their lack of internal studios.
If they didn't manage to sell more with a console costing half the price of their competitor, it doesn't need rocket science to know that any PS3 price cut now would kill them.
MS blew loads of money to secure DLC, JRPG and timed exclusives, but it was in vain since the 360 is still outsold 5:1 by the PS3 in Japan and it's even outsold by the PS2 there. They never recouped their Xbox 1 losses, and shareholders are very unhappy right now.
My prediction : MS just lets the 360 die like they do this year by not announcing / buying anything. It will sell fine anyway due to being the cheapest console.

^^^lol....its M$$$$$ for fucks sake...its sony that shud be worried, considering the strong YEN and dwarfing cashflows.

Yeah it's MS, but they're bleeding a lot right now, with their multiple failures : Vista failure, Office trouble vs Open Office, Zune failure, Xbox 1 failure and billions of losses, RROD and disk scratching multiple trials, yahoo bid failure, IE beaten by Firefox and Safari... MS is a fallen giant now, the stock is at multiyear low and they cut jobs mostly in the gaming division, which is a clear indication they probably intend to give up.

^^wow...exaggeration after exaggeration....vista failure, hmm pretty sure XP + Vista = monopoly, and pretty sure the entertainment division made profit last financial period, low stock & job cuts, its the recession..jeez which company hasn't been affected...Open office i'll give you that one..so not so much bleeding as is scarred.

Absolutely likely, most probably they are still at an early stage, but no console manufacturer would rush development only in the late few years of the previous gen, all rushed projects failed miserably.
