Forums - Gaming - Forget the Ps3 10 Year Plan -- NINTY feels the WII CAN LAST LONG Too!!

I like Super Wii.

But WiiCare makes me laugh.

And I'll withhold my excitement over Motion Plus until after I've played Sports Resort, and after we start seeing quality titles that fully use it. Motion Plus would be required for starters.

If say NMH2 were Motion Plus required and it played even better than the original, all would be forgiven.

Unfortunately, Punch Out! is being released before Motion Plus, meaning it will use preset animations with motions for button presses and will possibly just be a very slick reinterpretation of a long absent classic (where's Super Punch Out! on VC?!)

Super Punch Out is getting released this week. IGN just reviewed it for the Virtual Console.

WOW! That WAS a VERY informative ARTICLE! THANK YOU!!!!

This will be the 4th Xmas of the Wii - its been out for 2.5 years already. No price cuts, no new models, no colours...

It could easily be 7-8 years before a "real" successor is launched, and the Wii could easily last another 2-3 years after that.

So 10 years? More than possible.

Freakin' A. Color me jazzed.

I still don't know why I gave my copy away almost ten years ago considering it was one of my favorites. NES Punchout! with Mr. Dream just doesn't cut it anymore.

When the PS3 hits $199, it will still struggle against the Wii at $249.

YEAH like 360 is right now :P

oh come on squilliam you can do better than that.

for the wii its likely while nintendo supports it. they will do it like the DS is now.

It will stay in production with support for ten years, barring some sort of gaming market crash if the general public loses interest in video games again.

They'll be profitable at $99 if said worst case scenario never happens. And really, unless earnings plateau or begin to drop, there isn't any reason to jump the gun, not that Nintendo isn't working on a contingency plan in the event that they want to use a bit of that fat cash to finance a new platform (or how about announcing a stock buy back?!)

Wii will extremely be outdated in a few years. Nintendo's next-gen console better be a powerhouse, or I'll stay away from it.

It's weird how the same could be said about the NES into 1990.

I personally didn't care about graphics back then.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Great. That means I won't have to buy a new console for even longer. Me like that.

It's an issue of Miyamoto having said that they're taking the DTV transition in Japan "very seriously," as well as the indications that they've already been working on its successor. A 2015 succession is impossible.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I don't think wii will persist past the release of the wii2.
The graphics won't hold up, and if the interest is really in the control, then wii2 will have that as well.
