The impact of these games is so huge (and in many cases so different) it's hard to say what was "bigger".

I'd like to give a nod to SPACE INVADERS. The arcade machine brought about strong mainstream pubilicity, and the home version was what brought the VCS into superstar console status.

Picking a single game is difficult.

Pong (started it)
Super Mario Brothers (restarted it)
Tetris (perfect handheld)
Doom (FPS)
Super Mario 64 (3D gaming)
Wii Sports


There also probably ought to be an RPG and at least one other game-type listed as well.
