Forums - Gaming - Rumour: GTA Wii What do you think?

I'd definately pick up a GTA Wii, even if it was a GTAIII compliation with Godfatheresque controls, but a new game would be preferable.

Imagine the Wii controls if they made a Hot Coffee mod...

I doubt were going to see the next installment of GTA on the Wii just because it doesnt suit its demographic. Rockstar knows that their cake is on PS360 not the WiiDS.

And Chinatown had a mediocre first week as PSP version sold twice as much as it did during the 1st week.

So if the fans of GTA are on PS360, why did the last gen installment sell millions and millions more?
A huge part of the GTA gamers are very casual, something that suits the Wii perfectly.

Obviously it won't be GTA V but a good GTA for Wii (as in big budget, quality dev) would be a big success imo. Even more, I guess it would be a better game than GTA IV, because it would likely be closer to the (imo) better PS2 games.

Err ?

GTA4 sold on par with GTA3 ( first installment on each gen).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I'd personally like to see all new Chinatown Wars game for Wii.

I don't know if it will happen, but it needs to. Rockstar needs to grow and spread this franchise as much as it can. Unfortunately, they have never made a GTA for a Nintendo console before. That means they have to start from square one build the franchise from the ground up for a new audience.

It would sell good, but it wouldn't have a big opening week. It would have good legs though.
I would buy it for sure! Needs to be a good quality game though.

the Godfather was one of the best games on the wii

lol the opening post mentioned gta chinatown wars that just came out for DS.

there was also gta advance on gameboy advance, and GTA2 on gameboy color.  Although neither were very good.

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

Nintendo had a GTA announced for the DS at last years E3and it came out a week ago.

I wouldn't put it past them to have the same thing happen again this year, but with a Wii version.

It has been months since Rockstar said that "we can't ignore the Wii" statement, enough time to get a game started. They got money from that Table Tennis game, which probably gave them Millions in profit.

CONSOLE

...not handheld.  Besides, I didn't know those other GTA GameBoy games even existed until a few days ago.  I'm sure many others are in the same situation.  Those games were probably not very good and had no marketing.

If Rockstar wants to grow the GTA brand (and they should), the Wii is the obvious place to do it.  I just don't see it getting much bigger than it already is on the PS3 or 360.
