Forums - Microsoft - What are your expectations from MS at E3?

I think M$ will have a tremendous E3 this year. Not that Sony wont have, but M$ have definately got stuff planned this year. There is to many games which we should have seen and heard more about by now.

Full blown gameplay of the following will be shown:

APB
Forza 3
Huxley
Splinter Cell Conviction
Alan Wake
Halo 3 ODST
Killer Instinct 3
Perfect Dark 2
Mass Effect 2
Risen
Blue Dragon 2/ Lost Odyssey 2 (Mistwalker have been to quiet of late)

M$ will also show a Slim 360. On top of that, I think M$ will have some other game announcements under the CRYEngine 3 inhouse. Just because they can.

Seriously though, If M$ shows footage of the games I mention and at least half are playable they absolutely destroy the competition this year at E3.

Heres what I think we will see

Alan Wake
Halo ODST
Killer Instinct
One more Rare Project (Hopefully a Perfect Dark game that's more gritty)
Lionhead Project (Rumored to be Syndicate)
Forza 3

Lost Planet 2

Splinter Cell

Mass Effect 2
Another big 3rd party game
New Updates to live including the launch of 1 vs 100

Then at the end I think we will get a few teasers for 2010. Either Gears 3 or Halo 4, PGR, and one or two more.

I'd be happy

@ starcraft: Perhaps you're right. My reasoning is that the game is well suited to the Wii, and they probably started work on the PS3 version back when it was assumed it would have the same marketshare the PS2 did. Maybe that's not true anymore, being we still haven't heard a word about it

Ninja Gaiden 2 was 1 year timed-exclusive,payed by MS.

MGS4 is 1 year timed-exclusive payed by Sony.

I don`t think Sony has the money for full exclusive rights to MGS4,it`s a big budget game and Konami knows it.

MS is just waiting for E3,and so do we.

Nope you are wrong about NGII. This is the reason

First up, the 800-lb ninja in the room: Is Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 "a loss of face for everyone involved," as Itagaki said it would be? Hayashi-san carefully sidestepped directly addressing Itagaki's inflammatory remark, instead focusing on the game's development origins. As if to defuse Itagaki's pre-release remark, Hayashi explained though a translator, "Development began only after we read and heard about fan feedback ... after Ninja Gaiden 2 came out last summer." To add some street cred, he explained that the game's development team was "comprised of the Ninja Gaiden 2 team as well as the [original Ninja Gaiden] Sigma team."

As for DLC, we broached the topic two ways. First, will the PS3 release have any? Hiyashi said they were "very serious about coming up with new content to be available as DLC" and that he hopes to share "more details soon." And second, can current owners of Ninja Gaiden 2 on Xbox 360 expect to find any of the new enhancements – notably the "refined camera" and new multiplayer co-op functionality – available as DLC in the future? Hiyashi didn't need the translation for this one. Sorry, early adopters, but Tecmo's "ultimate" Ninja Gaiden experience is "only on PlayStation."

MGS4 on the other hand is probably exclusive because Kojima knows his fanbase and because he's one of those devolopers who still believes that focusing on one platform gives better results.

I can understand that, but I dont agree.

The Kingdom Hearts team (or most of it) is wrapped up in the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII.  Whilst I hope this doesn't mean that Kingdom Hearts 3 is not underway, I do believe it prevents enough development from having occured early on so as to commit the game to any one platform.

Honestly, without substantial moneyhatting from SOMEONE, there are only two viable options for Square Enix.  One is Wii exclusive, the other is multiplatform HD.  I believe multiplatform HD would sell FAR more.

KH 3 on 360 ?????????? dear lord noooooo, i barely survived last year's Blasphemy at E3 (FFXIII on 360), another heart attack and its over for me

Currently Playing: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3), White Knight Chronicles (PS3), PES 2010 (PS3), Killzone 2 (PS3)

Games to Finish: Silent hill Homecoming (PS3), Valkyria Chronicles (PS3), Oblivion (PS3)

They are supposed to have big announcements and I can't think of anything bigger than Halo 4. So that's what I'm expecting, although I don't know if it would be for the 360 or the 3rd Xbox.

lol

I'm starting to think that MGS4 will be a no go for 360 just because it will be an expensive port. It would either have to have many aspects remade or come on multiple disks. We all know how games sell when they get released a year or more late. They don't sell well. MS might announce it and do another "look we stole another PS3 exclusive" but it would have a non effect like Bioshock on PS3.

Personally it's getting boring as to how the 360 is defining itself simply by how many PS3 games they can get then pay another few million for some crappy DLC. Last year PS3 fanboys were in a panic because they felt like Sony should have been spending more to keep these titles from going multiplat. Looking at this years lineup though I am more then happy that they chose to publish even more great games instead of sqabbling over the scraps droped from PS2's table .

It's very possible that Kingdom Hearts and Versus are running on the same engine.  Versus is also supposedly going to be reminiscent of KH in terms of play style.  Much of the development time for KH3 could be cut out if it's running the same engine as Versus.  Also remember that if Disney has any say in the matter,  I would almost guarantee their alliance with Sony.  (For Blu-Ray purposes) or Wii for target audience size/etc.

I think Square Enix has many options.  With the series of games they have coming out,  they can give exclusivity or multi-platform as they please.  Especially to either the Wii or PS3,  whose Japan userbases alone trump anything the 360 has.

Remember there still is supposedly that 'True Blue System Seller'  of a game that is in development for the PS3 supposedly. All console Kingdom Hearts have been PS exclusive thus far.  Sony might have been able to snag it.

**EDIT**   And actually KH3 to PS3 might be picking up more steam when you put together the sequencing.  Last week, The Kingdom Hearts Team said they were going to make a big annoucement about the series next week (Which is this current week).   Sony supposedly has really big news tomorrow?   Coincidence?  Possibly.  But who knows?
