Forums - Gaming - Konami’s Negligible 360 Support: Why MGS5 Will Stay on PS3 - Valid reason?!

Unless massive payoffs arrive then its going multi, just lik the next gears and Versus. If FF goes they all go. Well unless the cheque is charming.

As a 360 fan and supporter, I don't care if MGS5 comes to the 360...while I would get it, I'm certianly not going to pine about it being exclusive, any more than it gets on my nerves to hear ps3 fanboys whine about Mass Effect or Gears of War...there are far and away enough games on the 360, that i don't need to "grass is greener" wrt to this game.

I'm pretty sure MGS4 was exclusive to PS3 because Sony bought like a million copies of MGS4 to bundle with the PS3.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

360 has plenty of Konami support, it's just shit like DDR and some other games that only stay in Japan.

Publish also on the 360 and make money... what is wrong with that ?

Any fanatic having a problem with that ?

What's wrong with Valve doing the same? They are even worse.

MGS5 will be ps3 exclusive, i doubt that there are over 10k mgs4 fans that dont have it because they have 360 and not ps3.

A terrible article. Konami isn't 'loyal' to Sony; it's other reasons.

yeah they are not loyal to sony.

but they are few companies that make profits :P

Same could be said about Valve! But it's not the case...

Valve has gone on the record stating they do not have the resources to make a PS3 port of Left 4 Dead. However I'm fairly sure that if EA were interested they could port it themselves the same way they ported the Orange Box over. The only reason the 360 has a port of L4D is because of the relative ease of porting between the 360 and PC. It would have been stupid for them not to.

If it is true then Valve doesn't deserve the anti-PS3 title that was given earlier!

Onyx, with all due respect..Valve can go on record saying whatever they want..money buys resources, and Valve has a ton of money, so porting L4D to PS3 isn't an issue of having resources.  Valve does not like the PS3 - any statement to the contrary is simply false.

The sad part is, so many people will continue to 'trickle-in' complaints about L4D on the PS3..then what happens?  EA is like, 'Ahh, what the hell, they still want it on PS3 a year later - let's make a quick port.'  Then what happens?  It comes out decent quality, probably not as good as the original in some way, and is seen as a PS3 failure because they thought a year-late game for full price is a good idea.  All I'm saying is that after a year of being out, Bioshock dev's must have missed the memo about the game costing only $40 brand new on 360 when they released the PS3 version, and the $60 price tag has a lot to do with the fact that most people consider it's port to the PS3 a failure in terms of sales.  I don't want a L4D port..it's a fun game, but I don't know if I could handle the drama that would ensue on here...

If you want to call them liars then be my guest, but they have gone on the record about it and here is the article stating so. Valve is 150 deep which is about as big as Insomniac. Do you see Insomniac going multiplatform? Nope. They concentrate on one console and they do so purposely under their own free will. Why aren't they making multiplat games if 150 deep teams have the resources to do so with high profile titles?

Valve's main marketer Doug Lombardi was on hand recently to show off the latest version of the awesome looking PC, 360 zombie shooter, Left 4 Dead. But PS3 is being left out of the loop.

Lombardi told us, "We're not PS3 developers - we're doing PC and 360 like with Orange Box. EA came to us and said 'Wow, Orange box was an incredible project, can we do a PS3 version?'"

So does that mean if it's a hit someone else (EA again, maybe?) could port it over to PS3? "Left 4 Dead doesn't have that guaranteed appeal yet - it's a new IP," Lombardi explained.

"If you mention a new Half-Life, people want to make as many versions of it as possible. If Left 4 Dead is big, then we may see a PS3 version later, or if and when we do a sequel, people may be more interested in that.

"We're only 150 people, so there's only so many things we can do. But it's one of those things with partners, wanting to take on that investment and risk. I think until L4D is proven, you'll probably just see what we make in that franchise."

We already think Left 4 Dead is looking great. Hit this link and check out the latest shots to see why.

"which is: Konami has not released a single canonical Metal Gear Solid title for any console other than the PS2 and PS3 after Substance. Even non-canon games like Metal Gear Ac!d and Portable Ops are exclusive to the PSP. "
