Windows 7 News
Microsoft has added some annoying restrictions to the Starter Edition of Windows 7. The Starter Edition has been designed specifically for emerging markets. This version of Windows 7 will be sold in those markets for a lower price. Some restrictions that Microsoft has implemented in the Starter Edition were already known like being only able to run three programs at the same time which according to Microsoft was implemented to ensure a solid system performance. Some applications like antivirus software programs are excluded from the limit.

The latest build of the Windows
7 Starter Edition featured additional restrictions. The following restrictions have been discovered so far:
- No wallpapers other than the default wallpaper were installed. There was no possibility to change the wallpaper using the usual means to do so. Rafael has posted a workaround for that Windows 7 Started Edition limitation which involves overwriting the default image with another one.
- Lack of additional applications like Media Center or DVD Maker.
Windows 7 Starter users will have the most difficulties with the three program at a time restriction. Most users will reach that application limit easily. Think of starting a web browser, email client or Skype and Notepad or an Office suite. That’s three applications already.
