Forums - Nintendo - I'm buying a DSi this week. What games should I get?

I don't have a wireless router, so I don't think I can get it online. I'm interested in all the usual favorites plus I'm interested in adventures like Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, Professor Layton, and Henry Hatsworth.

Try Hotel Dusk if so, quite stylized art and really well-written dialogues.

//Rhythm Heaven, maybe? As good and addicting as rhythm mini-game collection possibly could be. And, well, it's hard at times, or this's just me sucking.

 @mai, Hotel Dusk looks good.  I don't know if I would prefer it to the Ace Attorney or Professor Layton games.  Isn't Rhythm Heaven a sequel to Elite Beat Agents?

@theprof00  Is Quendan only available in Japan?  I think DSi is region-locked.

 1) From those three I'd prefer Ace Attorney and Hotel Dusk. I was surprised to found myself playing visual novel, tried before with other games of the genre but only Ace Attorney sucked me in. Well-written and brilliantly translated, with elements of attorney\detective simulator (all english localizations from GBA, only last one in the series is made for DS from ground, therefore uses DS functionality). A bit farcical\comedy plot written by Shu Takumi and weird, charismatic characters made this game series unique. Professor Layton is more of a puzzle collection, good art and animation, dozens and dozens of puzzles mostly not connected with plot - easy and hard ones, some are really a brainteaser - but not my game.

2) No, it's not. Rhythm Heaven is a mini-game collection in a vein of WarioWare games - a bunch of rhythm activites which ends up with boss-level, that combining all previous mini-games into one marathon run. Visualisation here is to help you to feel the rhythm, sometimes it's pretty wierd, music by Tsunku. Yes, looks stupid, but pure fun, tops WarioWare games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UOpkY6g2ZE

@Mai
1.) Thanks for clarifying all that. I'm probably leaning towards Ace Attorney and Hotel Dusk then.

2.) Okay, yeah it looks like an interesting game. I've never really played any rhythm games before though. I was leaning towards Elite Beat Agents because IGN gave it a 9.5 out of 10, but Rhythm Heaven looks like it could be the next big game.

Do you like quality or hype?

If you like hype, get what the sales person at whatever store you go to tells you to get. It will actually be in line with what the people here tell you to get.

If you are looking for solid fun games that you like, let me you know your and I will see what I can come up with.

the dsi is not region locked, you just cant access games on the JAPANESE DSiWare channel on an american DSi, but you can play ALL ds games on the DSi from any region

hello how are you.

Is Final Fantasy III DS any good? It didn't get super review scores, but that doesn't mean it is bad.
