They all do the same thing. Playing Killzone 2 today made me renew my boredom from generic shooters. Each new iteration only improves the visuals and doesn't really change anything else.

I applaud games like Resistance 2 that actually make an attempt to make the experience different. But games like Call of Duty are totally gone for me. Same guns, same enemies, same gameplay. I'm sick of generic shooters.

I can see what you mean. I rarely get interested at all in shooters since ... I dunno, Half-Life? But when a shooter tries something new I applaud it, even if I don't pick it up myself. I enjoy innovation in this genre particularly, since it's so rare to come by.

Well, get used to it.

I am getting tired of shooters as well but actually I picked up Killzone for a second runthrough and was actually amazed at the graphics for a second time...Damn that game looks good.

This, plus you reap what you sow. Thats what consoles are about. Generic games for masses. If you support it, don't whine. :P

It does get a bit tiring but I think that's why you just need to aoid buying these games until one really catches your eye.

I know what you mean, but I think most genres are the same. The more money is at risk the more businesses go for the low risk 'rinse and repeat' option.

As others have noted, the sad fact is that so long as it sells it'll be made, remade, copied and remade some more.

Still, at least KZ2 was polished. What I find even more depressing are the unpolished cookie cutter copies that really offer nothing of any merit whatsoever vs perfectly good games you already own.
