Maybe it's a bait to make MS show its hand as soon as possible and ward it off from doing it simultaneously with and disturbing Sony's announcement, that will actually happen later.
Anyway, thanks God this time the rumour deadline is very close, so we won't get writer's cramp and RSI typing every wacky hypothesis that springs to our minds for months

Last day of fiscal year, Sony will announce they achieved there goal of shipping 10M PS3's this past FY. Thanks for coming out folks..goodnight..

It is supposed to ship in the next couple of months. But Sony hasn't confirmed it other then to say it is spring. I noticed Gamestop moved its placeholder from May to July. Maybe Sony has finalized the date.
