Forums - Microsoft - Halo Wars Multiplayer Discussion Thread

I just got the game, and didn't see one of these threads up yet. I'm just curious to know what I should expect once I go online.

Which tactics are commonly employed by each side? Is it better to rush or tech? Which maps are the most popular? Does anyone have any tips for build orders, or micro?

Feel free to discuss anything in here as I have a LOT to learn :)

rushing is generally better...warthog rush for unsc, and the odst marine rush is pretty good too. and for covenant i would go with wraith tank rushing or ghost rushing

I haven't tried it yet, but I hear it is all about rushing.

Rushing is the best and the only reason I know this is every single one of my friends are playing it...I feel different ^_^

Former something....

One of my friends told me that Brute rushes were popular for Covenant. If that's true, I'm assuming Brute Chieftan would be the hero of choice, but what would the build order be?

Really all you need is 6-8 brute rush to win...

A possible one would be building a temple, then warehouses while queing up brutes who you make in the central structure. Send chieftain at enemy base and set the rally point for the brutes you make on the grav lift.

Though, I generally play 3 Vs. 3, rushing isn't too frequent.

I prefer UNSC... Anders!
