Ok, I see you did answer my question about could you beat an MLG Halo 3 player. It takes practice. Practice is the honing and building of one's skills. Thus it takes skill to play the game. You just completely tossed your argument of no skill out of the window.

And LOL at only playing against people on LAN. You will always meet someone better than you online. That is the beauty of matchmaking.

Ya I could, how, I'd beat the hell out of them with the 360 controller for handing me the damn thing. Then go playing in a pro league in a PC game.

edit: this wasnt directed at me.. lol

No no. Yes it takes practice, but far less than going back up on UT2004 will take. Also I didn't say I only play LAN, I only do local LAN tourneys which is not mlg at all. I do play online, in fact I only play online exclisively unless it's one of those tourneys.

LOL.  Good god.  If you are going to be a pc fanboy, at least put forth some valid points.

I tend to enjoy pc gaming.  Tribes and UT2004 were the last truly compelling online games I have played on the PC.  I enjoy discussing the different gameplay mechanics because I always wonder why pc people have such distaste for console games.

Slow. For the record Inever liked CS and Battlefield much either. Even when such shooters didn't exist on consoles.

I dont distaste them, I wouldn't review them if I didnt enjoy the funness of them, its just that comparing a PC FPS to a Console FPS and declaring a console FPS superior is a joke.

As for professional leagues, I might rejoin a clan for COD4.. idk, but I competed in way to many leagues and even CPL back in the UT04 days.

Ok, so we are making progress.  It isn't the fact that the games are on consoles.  It is the fact that the gameplay is slower that your tastes.  It just so happens that console games need to be slower than pc games due to input device.  So perhaps you should say, "I hate slow fps games", because there are slow fps games on places other than consoles.

That depends completely on taste.  I grew weary of arena deathmatch games.  UT2004's Onslaught was the best part and the mode I played almost exclusively.  Perhaps because it was similar to the gameplay offered in Tribes.  I also have a distaste for dedicated servers.  Tend to enjoy the prospect of matchmaking much, much more.

Yes, exactly. Except all console shooters are slow, bar none. Slow shooters also exist on the PC. That however applies only for multi-player. For single player the single fact that Half-Life 2 is still king of the hill does it for me. I mean, come on, you dove a buggy, you drove a boat, you fought gun ships, you fought gunshops under a bridge, you had a gravity gun, you hd a dark matter gravity gun. I know I'm missing a huge part of HL2, but you get my point. It's far more than your ordinary shooter liek GoWII.

I loved all modes, though I love DM, Invasion, and Assault the most in UT2004. I HATE matchmaking. I want to be able to choose my server based on mutators, players, ping, etc.
