Do you remember the NES era? Do you remember how hard it was to finish Kabuki Quantum Fighter?

I certainly remeber those days, and I remember one thing especially. When the credits rolled all these weird japanese names popped up. I live in Norway, and I`m used to all foreign entertainment (games, movies) coming from us or uk mostly. But same thing happened with Metroid 1. And as the child I was, I thought; "hey, those chinese people ain`t bad at making video-games at all."

Then I learned about Shigeru Miyamoto when starting to read video-game magazines; "Cool man. He really made many of the games I like. And he`s japanese? Japanese? Ninja`s and that stuff. That`s japanese."

Basically, over the years I`ve learned and experienced that making good games don`t depend on which country you`re from. What`s important to me is that the games are well developed. I`ve played gems from US, UK and Nippon.

But it has been spoken much of this word "fanboyism" the last years. So I wonder; Is fanboyism starting to be a nationalism thing to many out there, or is it already? Do western people (US, Europe) prefer xbox because it`s western made, and Eastern (Japan, China to mention the biggest) prefer PS3 and Wii?

Surely there are people like me that doesn`t care where the games are developed. And it is a matter of taste, but do you feel supporting the games/console that`s developed closest to your culture? And why?

No, Xbox was never popular in Japan, it never was, but PlayStation pruducts and Nintendo products are still popular in Europe and USA

Asian people who can afford consoles don't like products that die a lot since they are more used to, you know, Japan or Taiwan electronics, which don't break down as much, unless you buy things really really dirt cheap. I'd know, trust me.

So, you`re saying the japanese are more nationalistic than eu and us? Or?

it's just a known fact that a lot of the 360 has hardware flaws and people don't like that in Asia very much

 But I seem to miss the point. Is it only becouse of the hardware flaws? I don`t think you know everything, but please give me your thoughts.

That and 360 is mainly a shooter console, if people are serious about shooters there, they'd probably get a PC for it. The other genres are a little weaker tbh.

oh that and XBL, like, wtf is that? pay to play on the internet? PSN is free so they'd be insane to want to play 360 games online, then there is that whole shooter thing again.

I agree pay to play on the net is strange, but somehow the companies need to earn the pennies.

Uhhh... Fanboys are the creatures that will never go away and would take on any argument no matter how sound the logic to prove that they're company is number one. Fanboys have developed their own nation used to scream yell and attack each other [as in Company against company]. THey call this nation = T3h 1nt3rn3tz
