Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nintendo responds to PS3 Home

I have one question that I'm surprised hasn't been asked by anyone thus far myself included. Who from Nintendo said this? I don't see any sort of name attached to the quote. It just says, Nintendo responded. The lack of a name attached to the quote makes me wonder about its authenticity.

BenKenobi88 said: If anything Sony's the more cocky company...I think Miyamoto made a good point, as Nintendo already has their avatar type system...but Sony's certainly looks interesting. Death2009 said: Sony's looks better. The N must be mad about that. Get a clue. Have you seen the sales numbers in the past, oh, 3 and a half months? I doubt Nintendo has time to be mad about anything with all the time it takes to count their mountains of cash.
And wondering why the 360 outsold them in america. You are a mod, it's not right for you to flamebait users.

I never liked rumble that much, some shooters excluded, but mostly just for gunning, IMO often rumble was used too much or improper in many games, I don't need my hands vibrating when I die. I wish they could have added a switch on Dual Shock and Sixaxis controllers to easily turn it off, instead of having to do so manually for games.
I hated rumble too, but the Nintendo fanboys around here will attack sony over anything.

Viper said: You don't get it, do you? Wii gamers aren't looking for the most advanced graphical interface so why would this bother them? Mii's don't even have legs half the time but do you hear any of us complaining?
I have a very high standard and don't like it when companies cut corners. But if cheap is ok with you and you don't demand a high quality product...thats up to you. Sony is about giving you the best stuff all around and give the people all Nintendo does and more, which is what they are trying to do with home.

Journalism has been brutual and full of blind attacks and people assming for years. This happens in almost all areas of reporting and is common now. I am no fan of the hit piece, but it seems standard practice and in some cases it's ok to make assumptions based on what you do know.

So you must be pretty upset, then, that Sony is going for cheap software emulation instead of including the fully-functional emotion engine in every PS3. Stand up and demand your high quality product, Death. Don't settle for Sony's cheap coner-cutting!

The fully-functional emotion engine was in the PS2, doesn't that have to do with a backwards compatibility issue for PS2 games played on the PS3?

Yes. Sony is cutting corners with their backwards compatability. I know if I ever buy a PS3, B/C would be a major selling point. Why is Sony giving you a cheap knock-off of B/C instead of the real thing? You do have a very high standard, don't you?

YOU do know that their B/C had problems from the start right? Sometimes the games had no sound at all, so this maybe an attempt to fix that. But B/C doesn't bother me as that wasn't what caused me to buy the PS2 either.

Nintendo seems to think they are the only innovators in this industry...

(Sony exec) Phil Harrison is sitting in the front row (President of Nintendo of America) Reggie is standing off consulting with people, posing for pictures, etc. A kid in the front row shouted at Reggie "REGGIE! You gotta kick some ass and take some names!" "Like who?!" Reggie shouted back "Phil Harrison, FRONT ROW!" The kid says "I think we already did that" Says Reggie The nearby crowd laughs, as is appropriate.
Yeah, maybe that will bring back memories of getting pwnd by about 100 million consoles last time out.
