This is a sales tracking website... there are many gaming sites that don't track sales where you could make that complaint, but here it's totally out of place.

 

Yes but when people moan it's flopping and all that crap when Sega the publisher said they are happy with it's sales then there is no more reason to say it's a flop and cry it has not sold [insert some magic amount here they wanted it to sell] So it's not a flop to the publishers eyes and things are looking about right to them...then we should not worry and continue to play and enjoy it.

Is it true that this game only displays in 480i? I was considering this game as a good reason (not the only one though) to get a Wii. But the idea of an SD-only game in 2009, especially one being trumpeted as some kind of Wii-hardcore savior, is a huge turn-off.

Sadly yes. It's 480i/60Hz in NTSC and 480i/50Hz in PAL (black bars on top and bottom).

But frankly I don't know if the resolution is all that bad with its art style.

First can someone confirm that sega shipped only 60k on America alone for MadWorld.Source i am looking at you to confirm this if you can.

Second as we all know multi console owners are core gamers and as all saw the last two weeks they prefered buying Resident Evil 5 than a new IP which also has a niche appeal to begin with.

The numbers are good Sega said so. There is nothing more to discuss. All the trolling is from fanboys that wanted madworld to be on their HD platforms and they don't have a Wii.

So an advice if you want to play MadWorld buy it on the Wii just as all nintendo resident fans bought it on Xbox360 or PlayStation 3 and stop trolling about the sales.

The resolution on PAL MadWorld is 480i on 60Hz my TV can not play on 50Hz and i am playing it so..... Also the black bars are on because the game is native widescreen thus on 4:3 display televisions this bars are visible if your TV has widescreen support then you do not have any problems with that nor that you would have anyway the game is gorgeous.

Yeah, I'm playing on 42" HDTV and Madworld still looks great. I mean it is a wii game, but the art style comes through strong, and I don't notice in the least that it's "only" 480i. On ideological grounds I can understand being incensed at a game that only can be played in SD, but in reality it doesn't affect the quality of this game in the least.

For sake of completeness, is it a plasma or an LCD TV? Because plasmas are usually better at smoothing out interlaced SD.
