I bet the 360 will have better frame rate

Yeah, that's why the PS3 will run it better according to Crytek, right?

To be expected, really. A combination of a more powerful console+a company that loves the PS3.

Most of the footage is 360. I wonder why????

Are we really getting this upset? This reminds me of when I was a kid and someone got a better pair of Air Jordans than someone else. Then too, I reminded people how petty that was. This is no different, it's not that serious people.

Not getting upset but virtually all multiplat games have better frame rate on 360. I suspect the reason behind there being twice as much footage on the 360 is the frame rate is better on the 360 at this moment in time. After all the PS3 is a more complex platform and will require more labour of love and dev time.

Which it virtually never gets, making this thread useless.

In pre stages of development, just based off the preview info of screen shots, video and developer feedback, CE3 runs a bit better on the PS3 than it does on the Xbox.

So either it's easier for the engine to run on the PS3 architecture (it would be a first), or a "great" deal more time and effort has been put into the pre-code to see the better results currently seen (seems doubtful).

Either way, the point is that it runs a bit better on the PS3 at the current stage of development.

And that's why the PS3 will be around for 10 years :)

It'll be competing with the nex gen, power of the cell proved yet again

It cannot blow away the 360 with its massive power advantage, it could get very ugly when MS release their next machine perhaps even at a cheaper price point than the PS3 at this rate.

just shows that developers over time will be able to squeeze more power out the ps3 even if its a xbox 720 or wii HD

Did anyone seriously think that any of the current consoles had reached their peak output by now.

Not a first, for example the Killzone 2 engine is far more suitable for the PS3 architecture.

or a "great" deal more time and effort has been put into the pre-code to see the better results currently seen (seems doubtful).

Well I think the game engine is more optimised for the 360, due to more similarities with the PC and being less complex.

However the Crytek game engine was designed with multi-core PCs in mind, it is and has for a long time been far ahead of competitors technically in this regard. I think due to being well multi-threaded it's well suited for the PS3 architecture (structurely) and thus runs better despite being less optimised (getting the most out of) for the hardware.

Most of the PS3 related R&D should benefit the 360 as well, but the PS3 just provides more powerful processors (3 core architecture vs 8 processor CPU architecture).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Holy shit, where did all the PS3 fanboys crawl out of?! It's amazing how many of them!

Seriously, you know your console is losing when you're happy it has the best graphics. This won't make much of a difference because both consoles get the same games. o_0

The BuShA owns all!

Pretty sure the same thing has been said to death in regards to most 360 games as well. Most of those have shown up on other platforms (PC and PS3).

Exclusive on the Xbox typically means "exclusive to Microsoft platforms including Windows" barring the few examples like Halo 3, Gears 2 and Fable 2, which MS was probably wise to keep as Xbox exclusives.

CE3 doesn't guarantee the same games will show up on both the PS3 and the 360; it's a middleware development package like UE. Everyone assumes that means we'll see Crysis on both platforms, but beyond that depends entirely upon who buys the rights to use it to develop their own IPs.

And Mike, GG's Killzone2 engine is not a suitable example in comparing cross platform game engines since it was specifically designed and coded for the PS3 architecture as everyone knows. It won't run on any other platform.

If we see some games out using the Crytek engine. It is more likely than the X360 version will be better than PS3 version. I will link to this thread, lol.

But if PS3 version by some fluke is better well I will not say a word.

We can only find out the true differences when there is a finished multi-platform game being shown in videos comparing the two games head-to-head. There may be minor differences or they could be identical. until then we can not jumpn to any conclusions in claiming one way or the other.
