@ reask, Finest Hour is one of the non-IW developed games... Anyway, I think even the Treyarch ones are great, I did really enjoy the PS2 CoD games. IW better not drop the CoD name in MW 2

Didn't they already announce that they did just that? Or was that info just assumed based on the trailer?

It's complicated, nobody, not even Activision or Infinity Ward seems to be entirely sure what the hell is going on. I think it will still be Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

From a sales perspective you'd think they would want to brand it within the Call of Duty family, but on the other hand this may be a tactic to keep customers interested year after year as these two brands branch out further. People might be more willing to buy a branded FPS every two years as opposed to every one, even though they're at the moment basically the same game.

I can't believe they would make another WW2 game... though I would probably still end up buying it, assuming you are meaning that CoD would stay WW2, and MW would be as the name implies. I agree about the idea of buying branded every other year, but the sales of WaW would seemingly go against that

I still think Treyarch should stick with a war though. Maybe it's time they venture to Vietnam finally. I would be all up for it, but they would probably have to tone it down a bit from the reality.

I'm not sure about Vietnam, it would certainly make for a different game, I'm not sure what Treyarch should do, but they can't keep making WW2 games forever

I prefer the Battlefield series especially Battlefield 2

but COD is still cool and a lot of fun online

I think the Somalia war would be an awesome one, though that would probably be better suited to MW than CoD.

They definitely can't keep up WW2 forever, but they need to progress forward. Going back to World War I or earlier is going to get less fun to play. The weapons will get more primitive. Maybe they need to branch out how the game is played. Maybe a wartime game will feel fresh if it's more army based like Battlefield and Warhawk, however people were none too pleased about tanks in COD: WaW and wanted them removed.

Overall it's going to be hard to tell Activision that WW2 is burnt out when COD: WaW is selling as well as it is. Sales do not reflect people tiring out.

Actually Vietnam would be good with the capabilities of the present consoles.

I remember playing conflict Vietnam and it was OK but with the present technology they could really push the boat out.

Going backwards is certainly not the way forward, though there was a Konami WWI shooter announced (to end all wars) but that could well be vapourware. Anyway, I am not sure about going into the Battlefield territory, that is not really Call of Duty. Yeah we are going to have to wait until the sales start dropping

The good or bad part about COD franchise is it comes out once a year, you got Infinity Ward and trechyarch trading back andf forth so they have 2 years to develop it, Killzone was like 4 years and Halo is around the same.

Loved the MOH series but it seems to have died

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Xbox live:mywiferocks

I like Conflict Desert Storm :D

uh...uh...YEAH

Edit: Well, that's a third-person shooter. XP

Half Life 2 holds the position as best FPS in my book.

COD or Halo are def the best franchises. KZ2 is my favourite FPS though, so If KZ1 had of been awesome Killzone IMO would've took the crown
