Forums - Nintendo - Upcoming Virtual Console Console Games Wishlist

Put all the Virtual Console Console games you hope to see in the future released here:

Here's mine:

What I'm seeing on the VC at the moment is it seems as if Nintendo is only releasing games on it in the regions that they first came out in. An example would be yesterday when they announced that FF IV would be coming out in the US on the VC but Japan was going to be getting FF I -VI. That includes two FF's that we didn't get here in III and V (granted if you really look at III today it does look pretty old and primitive, but still, if you want to be a FF completist, then you would like to have it).

I've always thought the VC was a great idea. But, unlike most that like it because it just lets them play some good or great retro games, I think I've always seen its true potential to be able to finally deliver some of those great Japanese games that I used to read about in Diehard Gamefan in the 16 bit and early 32 bit eras that never saw a US release.

My VC wishlist would include the following games:

Terranigma (The Creation of Heaven and Earth) -- made by the same folks that made Illusion of Gaia and only released in Europe and Japan but not the US,

Dracula-X for PC Engine CD (old copies still go for over $200.00 on ebay) English translation.

Emerald Dragon for PC Engine CD (I tried to get Atlus and Working Designs to localize this a few years ago but Working Designs was going out of business and Atlus thought it was way to old in the PS2 days.) Supposed to be one of the greatest JRPGs of all time. They gave us Ys Books I and II. Now, let us have the true PC Engine JRPG masterpiece.

Lunar I, II, Magical Popful Mail, and Snatcher from Sega CD.

All of the FF and Dragon Warrior Games plus Secret of Mana 2, Treasure Hunter-G, Bahamut Lagoon, and Treasure of the Rudras from Square.

Sailor Moon RPG that appeared on Super Famicon.

All of the Earthbound games

And all of the Tengai Makyo: Far East of Eden games

Also, I would love to see some Sega Saturn games like Policenauts, Princess Crown, Astal, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Nights, and Magic Knight Rayearth come to the VC, but I'm not sure if the Wii is powerful enough to play Saturn games. I'm not trying to knock the Wii when I say that but Saturn emulation is very complex as the Saturn ran two powerful 2d processors in strange ways that even gives PC's trouble when trying to run those games. Hopefully, they will remember Saturn for the next console and VC if the Wii's not quite powerful to handle Saturn software in that fashion.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

I'm beginning to wonder if there's a technical reason that they haven't put this up yet.

It's probably bigger than 40mb (320 blocks) which is the limit for VC and WiiWare. It also needs the expansion pack, which is probably easy to emulate on the Wii, but still.

i hope this isn't what it is. If they put on a limit smaller than some N64 games I think I might go berserk. It means we have no hopes of ever getting Ogre Battle 64, either, which I'm almostp ositive was bigger (and heavier) than Majora's Mask.
