@ BOLDED: THIS.
...As far as the rest of the OP goes, I wouldn't think something as big as Zelda for the Wii would be announced at GDC. Either at Nintendo's own summit...MAYBE, but if they are going to announce something like that I would think at E3.
As far as the rest of your OP goes we'll just agree to disagree. =)
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?
This one came out of left field for me. I wasn't expecting a Zelda announcement at all, and certainly not a handheld Zelda, so i can't really be disappointed.
I had a fancy for model railroading when i was younger, so i'm quite interested in where they'll go with this.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

We we're all expecting a new Zelda game, however a Home console game, not a DS game...and one that imo looks down right horrible. I can honestly not see how everyone else think it looks good. I honestly truely think that if this game had someone else other then Link and the title of Zelda in it's name it would be considered shovelware garbage. I know graphics aren't the thing with most nintendo people atm, and I understand that this is a DS not a super computer, but my god.....it looks like crap. It seriosly looks like mumbled garbage, I expect a lot more then this from a main nintedo game. The gameplay does not look at all intriguing to me and from the trailer it looks like im gonna got extremely bored of the same poor qaulity dungeon texture copy over and over again. Sigh...look, im really not trying to troll here if that's what some of you guys are gonna try stabbing at. I love Zelda, and i just am not liking this game so far at all. I would be happier if it was still sprites like in 4 swords, cause right now it really really looks horrid, and looks like it will play horrid as well. |
I'm always glad to see a Zelda announcement. Even if it's a DS game. The PH was great. And also the pictures were very close. All DS games look like that when you hold the DS to your face. But I can't see it looking worse than PH. We know that a Zelda wii is coming. So why be so disappointed?
I'm sure lots of people are disappointed. But once they have had a chance to play Phantom Hourglass and realize how awesome a game their getting a sequel to is, they'll be reappointed. happyppointed? uppointed?
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

I enjoyed playing Phantom Hourglass but stopped playing it without completing it because I got seriously tired and fed up with having to go back to that Ocean Temple a million times. How tedius.

Damn you, Naznatips!
Also more seriously isn't it like six times?
Three for each floor, since you have a halfway point?
It was also a different experience every time because the added tools you got made the trip down much shorter. I thought it was a neat feature, I didn't understand all the complaints (especially since even if you did them slowly and ignored the half way point you wouldn't have to do it that many times).
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Well for me it was just too many times to bare. And the fact you had to wait in those sections where time doesn't run down until the guards had moved away and the coast was clear made it even more tedius. If it was just a case of going all guns blazing (or rather all swords swinging) then I might have been able to bear it. But the waiting around in the same temple time and time again drove me crazy.
