Nice find, but to speak. Just like how movie to game adaptions are failure. I see this as failure before it even goes in production. I strongly believe the hype is there but I think it will be put on hold just like how Peter Jackson is putting Halo on hold.
It's supposedly being directed by the same guy that directed Ultraviolet. In my opinion, it's already a failure before it's gotten off the floor. I would hope for mediocrity at best.

Um, the "info you got so far" is the info everyone has had for well over a year. 
Like Onyxmeth said, the director is the man behind Ultraviolet. I don't expect much from this.
Kojima should step up to direct this. Even if he didn't do a great job (considering it would be his first film) it would still be more Metal Gear Solid than anything Kurt Wimmer could squeeze out of his ass.

so far its "Announced", till it goes to pre production is when we know this will happen

None of the IMDb information is set in stone. Most of it is probably speculation. That page has been like that for awhile now. Trust me, I've gone to it several times.
I hope its never made. Only crappy directors direct movies based on games. Everybody loses.
