Well reviews, they must be objectives, opinions are subjectives.
For example, I love Crisis core, it's a 9+ game for me, but if I had to write a review, I'd give it a 7.

You give a game you LOVE a 7? 7 = Average
@ garnett: I think tremble is trying to say that a review - although written from their own experience - should take into account how the general public would view this title and base their scores accordingly.
I for example could hate title X because it is a FPS (not my favourite genre) but then I judge it by the standards of that genre and the score could be completely different than when I judge it based on my own preference.
I think the reviews are very Wii /Nintendo-friendly. Please don't ban me.
Halo3 getting 8.8 is just not what the game deserves. Check the stats bungie just published. 15 million User played it (!!!), 1 million user are playing it every day, still No. 15 on NPD, more than 75 weeks after the release.
On the other hand, we have got madworld getting a 8.7. I am not saying madworld is a bad game, but it is just not in the same league as Halo3 in any aspect.
This is no trolling, just my opinion.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

You can't separate reviews from opinions. We can try to objectively weigh things, but they're always going to be affected by our opinions.
Like, if I were to review FFXII? I would rate it really high, and I would see that as justified as objectively as possible. If Naz were to do it, he would rate it fairly low, and he would be doing it as fairly and objectively as possible too. The difference there is our perspectives, and that's something you're going to get in every review.
You can't expect reviewers to be objective. If we could be, all scores would be the same for every reviewer. Objectivity in the interpretation of art isn't one of our primary goals.
Well if too many people complain about it, there must be a problem somewhere ...
But once again, I'm not complaining about the final score, but about the logic behind them. If you follow those reviews, FFIV is supposed to be better than Chrono, which is on par with revenant wings which is supposed to be better than DQIV ...
I mean ... no.
@garnett: 7 = average??? No, 7 = good, 8 = good +, 9 = very good, 10 = perfect.
In my world, 5 = average

So popular game=good game?
