Forums - General - I'm going on a diet!

I'm working on a diet plan and I need some help. I was wondering if anyone knew any good sites or calculators to help me plan my caloric intake.

This is the first time I've ever done something like this. Normally I just exercise but I'm trying to trim down while retaining lean muscle.

I'm going to the supermarket tonight and was wondering what I should get if I wanted to buy food for the week, cook it, and take it with me to school and work, where I could eat 5-6 meals a day.

I checked a calorie calulator and I should work with about ~2000 calories a day.

Another site told me to do 65% carbs, 20 percent fruits and veggies, and 15% fats.

What does this mean??? How should I break up the foods into these servings? I'm sure some of you aren't complete nerds and actually go to a gym and are body conscious. What do I do?

doesn't anyone here stay in shape besides using wii fit?

Some cook books like healthy eating and simple suppers might help you out. Good luck!

I am fine by only playing the Wii regularly.

I'm not comfortable settling for "fine"

Does everyone share rol's casual attitude toward fitness?

the best diet is to stop eating for 36 days...can u handle that?

diet is what you eat, so anyone who has eaten is on a diet, please dont confuse the uninformed, my diet is fine thank you, im relatively healthy

Lol scifi what are you talking about, who's the uninformed?

I need to know how to split up my carbs, and how others carry their food with them throughout the day conveniently. I've been on like 50 websites, none of them say anything I'm looking for. They just say stupid tips like: "Hungry? eat an apple dummy. For your health!"

I'm A.) a Vegan and B.) female so I wouldn't have much advice to offer you

Just aim to take in the proper amount of protein a day, not too much and not too little

And eat lots of veggies fruits and whole grains. Eating these will make you fuller and healthier.

My metabolism is extremely fast, I never watch my diet. Then again I never eat fast food and I do mostly eat things that aren't bad for you. I stay away from sweets and the like most of the time.

I also normally only eat two meals a day instead of 3... And Wii Fit is awesome!
