Forums - Sony - The next Metal Gear to be exclusive?

I thought these MGS is going multiplat rumors were expelled when

A) MGS4 Makes fun at Multi-Disc gaming as stating Blu-ray and PS3 are Amazing
B) The PS3's, PSP's, Sony Ericsson's In the game should tell you Sony put alot of money into this themselves and helped fund the development
C) Apple products! You never see anything resembling Microsoft in the game! I can almost assure everyone that these products will return in any future Main Series MGS titles.
D) During the first Instal MGS4 states that the Game is for Exclusive use for the Playstation 3 system

360 Fanboys put it to rest as long as Kojima is breathing MGS Series (Main Series) stays a Sony Exclusive And even then we can all say that the Series will never see the light of day on a Non-Playstation console.

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

It would make it a better game if it came on the Xbox 360.

1. More gameplay.
2. Fewer movies.
3. ????
4. Win!

#2 is why I hate MGS4, #1 is why I loved MGS4. So really it would have been a better game had it been released on a single DVD-9.

Tease.

I still don't see the link between Kojima and PS3...

It's called loyalty.

Kojima has always stayed loyal to the Playstation brand and the Playstation brand has always been good for him. No wonder why the first four games were exclusive (with the exception of some bogus timed exclusivity that didn't really matter anyway).

Hello!?!? Kojima doesnt work for Sony but for Konami and last time I checked he didn own the company.

And this is relevent because ?

And the reason why MGS1-3 went to playstation is quite simple PS1 = 102 millions unit sold, PS2 = 125 millions unit sold.

You really think the userbase is the only reason why Kojima released those games on Playstation ?

As for MGS4 when they made the game they were expecting the PS3 to be the dominant console again....and we know what happens.

No, they made it for PS3 because they knew their fanbase would stick with Sony (which they did).

Yes the only reason of the exclusivity was the PS1-PS2 userbase. And if the MGS fanbase is sticking with Sony why PS3 sales are just at 22 mlns????

What's wrong with 22 millions ? I've never seen a Metal Gear Solid game selling 20 millions, how about you ? They all sold about 4-6 millions a piece. And since MGS 4 is now at 4 millions and counting, I think I am pretty accurate when I say that the MGS fanbase stayed with Sony.

Kojima has said in the past that the series' success is tied to the PS brand.
They all ready have a game engine... cost would be dramatically lower for a second PS3 MGS.

I say PS3 exclusive if there's another MG

4 ≈ One

THe highest selling MGS is what... 7M??? Last I checked, 22 million was a bigger number than 7 million :-S

I agree with those saying Kojima wouldn't be contempt with sacrifcing MGS5's potential quality by spreading the title over two platforms , the game won't be optimised fully for either one.

Considering that he felt he failed to achieve his vision for MGS4 it would be pretty heartbreaking if he wasn't alowed to in some ways get closer to that ideal with MGS4 , it would certainly be impossible if he had to accomodate 2 versions at the same time.

But i'm sure Kojima understands the economic situation fully and will act with the interests of his company also which would be a multiplatform release .I don't think Konami would make it too hard for Sony to secure some kind of exclusivity deal though .

I believe the game will go multiplat,it would be dumb not to,as most devs are.

although significant it's far from a determining factor.

If they made the game multi-plat you have to remember they would have to change how they made the game, and maybe even downgrade the length/graphics. MGS4 weighed in at 32gb. Making another game multi-platform is not as easy as it sounds without making concessions. Considering they have the whole game engine, and development process 'ready to go' for a game made the same way MGS4 was, its not unlikely they might make it exclusive like 4 was. Making a sequel, that is 'less' than MGS4 is something that is not very attractive to consumers.

Metal gear solid games have been multi-platform in the past and in the current climate I expect them to be multi-platform again
