Forums - Microsoft - Some Games Will Not Play On My 360.

Just looking to see can anyone give me a heads up on my problem.

Basically what happened a few weeks ago was my 360 started giving a message on screen which said please put disc in 360 console.

When I would open and close disc drive a few times it would work but eventually got to the stage where it would not work so I got it repaired.

Guy said it was a faulty laser so fair enough.

So got it home today and set it up and put in one of the games that had been playing up (Gears 2 was the game) bang worked perfect.

So put in another game that had been playing up Bully I think It is called (my daughter plays it not me BTW).

So anyway that worked as well no problem so she spent the day on it.

Later on this evening I put Gears Back in and whammo same error message appears as before.

So try bully and same thing happens.

Then I put in COD WAW loads perfect, Then I put in BC bad company same perfect.

I have about 5 games at the minute that work each time and three that dont..

So after my long winded thread my question is are the discs that are not working damaged or is my console still not right.

I know other folks on the site may have more knowledge than me on these things so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Since the discs worked mere hours earlier, I'd assume it's not them. How scratched up are they?

Do you have any friends with 360s? You could try them on one of their systems to see if they work.

They look perfect actually mm.

To be honest I do not want to put them into someones 360 and damage there laser.

But you are right that was my worry as they did work when I put them in first.

its your console, I had to send mine in for repair for same issue. Some games would boot up, others would not. For instance, Blue Dragon brand new out the box wouldnt play, but some other games would. And are you noticing any lag issues on CGI stuff, cutscenes and such? That was very noticeable as well.

Sounds like it's your console  I guess give MS a ring and see what they can do for you.

Problem is i just paid for this problem to be resolved and was wondering was the games damaged prior to repair?

Could still be faulty, my initial repair was for the disk drive going out. While playing a game the 360 started making a bunch of scratching and screeching noises and then nothing would read. When I got it back was when I started having the problems with specific games. I was getting the white screen that has "put disk in 360 console" in like 10 different languages.

Yep it's a console thing. By any chance is your 360 older than 12 months? The older drives seem to have some issues. Thankfully this is not a widespread problem. Get M$ to fully sort it out.

F**k it if it is still faulty I travelled 90 miles  round trip today to pick it up having done the same trip 10 days ago.

I was hoping maybe the discs had got damaged prior to repair.
