First things first. Europe should be a region on its own and not lumped together with Australia and other unworthy markets.

Why are you calling your own country unworthy?

Australia and Austria are two different countries. =)

if they go from 3rd word status to 1st world status, then yeah, till such time, no.

It might take half century to move the whole China from developing to developed status. But it doesn't mean everybody in that country has to take 50 years to become 1st world population. Just 10% of them is already eclipse japan. The problem for China is not they don't have enogh people who has enough money to buy videogame (for the stat sake, many city in China aleready reach 50k per capita) . But how does they interest in videogame, comparing to the PC market which i would say China is already 2nd or even 1st biggest market in the world. It would take a little bit more time for them to suck videogame as the 2nd hobby beside their online PC game. Just take a look at south korea as another example.

The EU acts as a collective, if you broke down their sales country by country, the sales would seem pretty lame. Im sure Australia has a larger market than Austria :p .... Elitist European doesnt like being a part of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa aka PAL Regions) huh? Too bad, get used to it, Europe hsnt that special you know.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Agree with gconsole. And heck at such phenominal growth rates it wont take China long to become a force to be reckoned with (heck it already is). And I love the fact that China is a PC gaming nation, that could force devs to put more effort on PC games. PC gaming is great, but not nearly as great as it used to be. We need MORE GAMES! And for christs sake make them scalable! Most PCs come with intergrated chipsets, and noobs wont bother upgrading a GPU, heck they wont even know what a GPU is. Make games cable of running on anything from triple SLI to a 64MB integrated chipset please!

Brazil still has huge issues with piracy. As it was already said, people will buy the pirate disc for $5 even it the legal one costs $10.

Most of the PS2's sold in Brazil will sold unlocked in order to play pirated games.

With the exception of subscription based games, I don't see the video game industry growing much in Brazil for the near future.

Not while pirated games are available on every street corner, nor while systems and games are so expensive.

Not 4th but 5th. Fourth place belongs to China (for now), once China opens up it'll shoot to number 1. Pure math 1.3 billion > 300 million. And no, it wont take Africa a hundred years, more like 20. Most countries already have EDGE, Kenya has mobile television, SA has 3G, Wi-Fi, ADSL, Zambia, Tanzania and lots of others are getting optical cables too...Africas more advanced than most of you think, sure its not all flying cars and teleporting, but its not all huts and chickens either :p Google Earth any major African city and see for yourself. Back on topic, Latin America will get more relevant in the gaming world though, theres no denying that.

I was talking about when Africa becomes as comparitively large as the rest of the world regarding population.

Do you really think in 20 years time there will be consoles that reach 1/5th of the population like they do in Japan? (like DS is doing now)
