I know this is offtopic why is it called B.net? B.net is Battle.Net which was made by Blizzard entertainment over a decade ago.

wow, that is HUGE. I mean think about it: 5000 downloads / day => 360*5000 = 1,800,000 downloads (of course there were probably MUCH more downloads when this pack released, but anyway) 1,800,000 downloads * 7.5 USD (600 points = 7.5USD; I guess it was more expensive in its early days) = 13,500,000 USD revenue for a freaking map pack. I guess there were like 3,000,000 downloads, because most of the players bought it straight after the release. I calculated they sold as many packs on the first day as they do now, one year after release. And If I remember right, it was 800Points at first (10 dollars instead of 7.5). The revenue of this pack is probably more than $30,000,000! Do I have a brain-lag or is this possible? It seems to much for me, but I can't find out where my mistake could be. |
If those numbers are even in the ballpark, then revenue from just the Heroic (when they still charged for it) and Legendary map packs was enough to cover development of the entire game, and probably a good chunk of marketing. No wonder they still want to support the game and release maps for it!

I know Bungie.net but how did they get away with using that acronym? Most gamers associate B.net with Battle.net and Blizzard. I could have sworn Blizzard has B.net copyrighted so if Blizzard felt like being dicks they could do some damage as presenting stats as B.net versus stats from Bungie.net could give false impressions of the content available on Battle.net across most of Blizzard's games.

Amazing stats...I laugh at the people who called killzone 2 a halo killer.
Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Your sig doesn't say it all! I suck at Halo 3 and I still love it!
The only people that think Halo 3 is a bad game are people that never played it.

I wonder if a Halo 4 would top these numbers or not

GOD this game is insane. That many downloads of the Legendary map pack is ridiculous.
Long Live SHIO!
