so when will it get to 50 million?

If trends continue for the console (around 400k per week) then you should expect the Wii to reach 50 million unitssold to customers on the week ending either 10nth of april, but it's more probable that it's gonna be the week ending 17nth of April.

But that is only if the Wii doesn't suddenly start selling more or less than it has been for the past few weeks.

and if there is no adjustments...

March 24, 2009 - Nintendo reached a major sales milestone earlier this month as the DS topped the 100 million mark in worldwide sales. Now it's Wii's turn.

Nikkei reports today that the Wii will cross the 50 million mark some time this month. With just four business days remaining in the month (three if you don't count Monday) that means we can probably expect an announcement of some form over the next few days.

This news shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Nintendo's own forecasts from early January suggested the 50 million mark would be crossed before the end of the fiscal year.

The Wii is the fastest selling console ever. The PS2 took just under three years to reach the 50 million mark, according to the Nikkei report. The Wii hasn't even been avaialble for two and a half years.
