Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who are your top 3 gaming companies and the games you love that THEY made?

Well, gaming has come a long way since the days of Space invaders and Pac-man.

Which companies have defined the gamer you have become today with their gaming excellence? who are your gaming company heroes.

And remember, just because your fave game(s) may be on the console(s) you own, it doesn't mean the makers of your console(s) made the game(s) you know and love.

For me it's

1. Sega...... Thanks to Shenmue, Sonic, Streets of rage, Virtua fighter, REZ, Virtua tennis, Daytona USA, Fighters MEGAmix, Jet set radio, Condemned, Virtua cop, House of the dead and many more

2. Capcom..... Thanks to Resident evil, Devil may cry, Onimusha, Dino crisis, Choas legion, Final fight, 1942, Megaman, Ghosts and goblins, Street fighter and so on

3. Nintendo.... Thanks to Super mario world, Super mario kart, Super smash bros, Donkey kong.

Honourable mention........ Treasure...... 2 games i love from them......... Guardian heroes and Ikaruga

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

hmm....

Sony(too many great studios to name)
Capcom
Kojima production/infinity ward/2k

Nintendo: I mean, come on... do u really need more??? Mario, Zelda, Smash, Metroid, Star Fox, Le Donkey.....

Capcom: Pretty good games. Residents, Street fighters, Mega man, the dream master

The old rare: killer instinct, banjo, goldeneye, perfect dark,

Nintendo: Mario, etc.

Rare: DKC, Goldeneye (absolutely the game of my youth), etc.

and the other one can be Microprose/Firaxis for Civ2 & 4, Maxis for the SimCity series (which I played a LOT) or Valve (my most recent favorite, because of HL2 and TF2)

honorable mention to Chris Sawyer and his fellows for making my possibly most anticipated game ever with a demo that I played countless times, and that's Rollercoaster Tycoon. I don't remember playing any other demo as much as I played this one. of course that there are other games that I anticipated but this one was different because of the demo.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Nintendo : Everything but Wii Music
Capcom : Megaman! and resident evil ( the old ones)
mmmmmmm

Rockstar Games : GTA/Bully

I didn't really game a lot before the tail end of last gen, so my list will probably look a lot bit different, but:

Bungie because they gave me the Halo Franchise

Ubisoft because they gave me Splinter Cell

and finally, Valve. The Half-Life series is great, but it was Portal that first caught my eye.
