What is your favourite comic of all time,

Name only these 3, seeing as they are pretty much the greatest comics in the world IMO.

1. Asterix

2. Archie

3. Tintin

^^ These 3 being very close.

My Girlfriend tried to make me throw out my Archie collection of over 300 digests, I put her in her place.

I'm 21 now and haven't read any for a very long time, but they hold some memories that can easily match games like Zelda and Final Fantasy.

Tough call between Asterix and Tintin. I'm going to go with Tintin because he wasn't dependant on some magic potion to operate at peak awesomeness.

And Archie just fails, on so many levels.

I've never thought there will be a day when Archie would be considerred equal to Tintin/Asterix. When you make such a list, the order usually goes like this:

Tin Tin/Asterix/Lucky Luke, with Iznogood as a close fourth. No way is bloody Jughead funnier than Captain Haddock.

I grew up with Archie comics. I must have had over a hundred double digests. And I can safely say that I read them not because they were good, but because they were conveniently placed at the grocery store check out line. Archie comics are a tedious excercise in repetative lamery.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Um Archie comics I guess. Among other things Archie comics published some of the Ninja Turtles comics and I noticed them that way. but yeah, like stof said not that great.

So much Archie hate!

Asterix FTW. I just love reading them (in French as I am French) especially now as an adult given that there are so many jokes I missed as a kid.

That's what's great about it; it is a great comic for kids, full of adventure and slapstick gags and it is a great comic for adults, with the same plus extra jokes that you don't get as a kid.l

Lucky Luke is also like that and just about as great but I have a slight preference for Asterix (I had more of them when I was a kid).

I do not know how they hold up in English as I only read one in English a long time ago and don't remember how the translation was.

Tintin FTW!!!

Well Archie just plain sux IMO, no offence I know people who like it... I just don´t care for it at all.

I only read one or two Tintins and never got into it, but it pretty cool, at least you get to learn some culture and geography.

I like Asterix in some ways, some of the movies are real good, some where re-bubed by some german internet nerds with different german accents, those are real great, what I don´t like is the typical frence "we are rebells, we are better than the rest, we defeat the superpowers" attitude (no offence, I love you guys), that gets on my nerve.

WHAT!? How can you even talk about classic comics without considering The Beano or The Dandy!? Or is it just America we are talking about? :(
