I agree.

Wii players are little kids and women.

It's funny because SO many surveys have said this, but Wii fans get angry and say "you're just generalizing, so I'll take your opinion with a grain of salt"

Then you wouldn't mind providing some links for me?  I don't think I've seen one of these surveys yet, so let's have a look.

And that's not even the one I was referring to....it's just the most recent one I could find....but it essentially says the same thing as the others

Talk about lying with statistics... Did you read the article you linked to BMaker? It doesn't prove Noeraf's point in any way.  All it says is, for the 4th quarter of 2008 (October - December), the Wii attracted more boys from ages 6-11 and females over the age of 35 than the PS3 and 360.  It does not say that the Wii audience is exclusively, or even predominantly, made up of the two aforementioned demographics.

Is that better? It flat out says it from Nielson Media Research. No set time frames, just flat out userbase (not like Oct-Dec would be different, and all of a sudden in June to September, the Wii would suddenly take the "core gamer")

And like I said, this is just the most recent one. There are many past surveys that show up the same results, PS3 = oldest, Wii = kids and women. You think that just because the previous article specifically said "October to December" that any other time of the year, the audience the Wii attracts would be different?

Thanks for the links.  There's one thing I've noticed about these surveys, though: They never specify what percentage of the userbase falls into each age category.  Since the Wii commands such a sizeable lead over the PS3 and 360, it's entirely conceivable that the Wii may have more of an audience in both the casual AND core groups, just with a smaller proportional makeup by the core group.  It's the same argument with the attach rate, really: Each Wii might sell less games per system, but there are so many systems out there, that the sheer number of systems overrides any difference in ratios.

He makes some good points. I wouldn't bother making a Wii game if I owned a gaming company. Good games like No More Heroes, Madworld, and I'm betting on the conduit, don't sell well.

The only games that are sure to sell are from Nintendo, and thats because they're sequels to popular franchises like Mario.

What is your definition of selling well? CoD:WaW (Wii) already sold 1 million, GH:WT sold better on Wii than any other consoles, same thing for games like Lego Star Wars, Sonic games, Shaun White, Tiger Woods, etc. Even the 'core' game Star Wars Force Unleashed sold better on Wii than on PS3. Not mentionning that party games like Carnival Games is selling better than MGS4...
