in quantity? yes
in QUALITY? NO
It's real simple, all these companies are going 360 because of the bribes.
And FYI, JRPG's broke into the western market 12 years ago when FFVII hit the U.S. If that's their excuse for this crap, then that's lame. |
Bribes??? Come on. That's a little harsh. But I do agree with your statements before the "bribes."
I think the DS and PSP are the JRPG machines this gen, but this is thread is about non-handhelds. As a JRPG fan since the first Dragon Warrior, the 360 is NOT the JRPG machine this gen. In fact, not one of the three current gen consoles can claim that because of the lack of quantity/quality. All of Atlus' three 360 titles have been duds, and I've never cared for both the Star Ocean and Tales series ever. You have Blue Dragon, but what really sticks out are Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odessee on the 360. Then you have the PS3. It does have enhanced versions of Enchanted Arms and Eternal Sonata over the 360 versions. What sticks out on the PS3 are Disgaea and Valkyria Chronicles. Those are probably the best JRPGS you can get this gen. Then you have White Knight Chronicles just released in Japan. Which is looking to have a lot of potential. But this is all we really have since this gen started over three years ago. Now, the PS3 has the potential of being the JRPG this gen if exclusive offerings such as Cross Edge, Atelier Rorona, Final Fantasy Versus, and the upcoming Shin Megami Tense games along with a potential improved version of Last Remnant pan out to be quality. We just have to wait and see.
