I'd like to see which games you guys think will flop despite extensive internet hype. I have a few:

Heavy Rain

Infamous

Alan Wake

All three because they're new IPs, they're virtually unknown to the masses, people have no idea what genre they really are, and they're targetting an exclusive hardcore audience.

Heavy Rain especially, since it's targetting a specific niche that is very small. Even if every single member of this niche buys the game, it won't reach anywhere near a million (or not even half a million in my eyes).

Infamous isn't impressing any reviewers at the moment from the comments some have said over the trailers.

Alan Wake.. just is an unknown at the moment. And if it's planning to release this year, it better show some more stuff to make the public more informed about what it is really.

Infamous: I disagree. It looks like something that would appeal to the mainstream. Also, the previews I read said almost nothing but good things about the game

Alan Wake:Can't make a good guess on this one since we don't know what the gameplay is like.

Heavy Rain and Alan Wake better sell at least a million copies.

I think the upcoming Bionic Commando will flop. Noone seems to be interested in it.

Heavy rain yes i agree,Alan Wake will prb get cnclled for 360,and INfamous is just PS3 version of crackdown.

Heavy Rain ~ Yes, its very very niche and probably flop sales wise.
Infamous ~ Well, it might be more mainstream than other two and it might not flop.
Alan Wake ~ There isn't enough information to say anything about it.

what good previews have you read of infamous? i haven't seen any..

I think infamous should sell okay, it has been receiving good previews, but it is launching in June

Heavy Rain and Alan Wake are not big games in terms of sales

I think the flop will be heavy rain even though I think it will get good reviews. I think infamous will get a mediocre sales and as for Alan Wake I think its gonna sell between 500k to 700k above average it just have this resident evil Ala silent hill type of game.
