Forums - Gaming - Mars interview- the action RPG

http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/mars1.php

I won't post the whole thing since it's rather long, but I'll post a few parts I find interesting.

"GB: Where do you currently stand with the development of Mars and how much longer do you expect its development to take?

Jehanne: In fact we’re in preproduction: we already have a lot of things on certain points, and on others we’re far from the end: The bible is complete, we’re finishing a short playable demo to find a publisher and a lot of different things are already working, but there is still a lot to do on the rendering aspect, gameplay and of course production of all the assets. If we find the necessary funds to finish the game, it should be complete in September 2010, as we will need one year and a half to do the whole thing from now."

"GB: You've listed the game as currently being developed for the PC and PlayStation 3. Might we see it on the Xbox 360, as well?

Jehanne: To be honest I don’t know. As we have no publisher yet and as we‘re working on PS3 and PC we’re for now planning only these two versions. If the publisher(s) we find ask(s) for a 360 version we’ll do it of course.

But the PS3 is a very interesting platform that’s why we choose it as a main target : even if difficult to program it has a great potential, and there is nearly no RPGs on it ! I’m sure there is a lot of players waiting for good RPGs on PS3… at least I hope so!"

So, I posted it in the gaming forum because of the last bit. I think it's a cool idea, and I want to find out more about it... it sounds very interesting.

I would encourage you all to read the whole interview before replying!

Bump in case anyone cares. Also, for those of you who forgot or missed the other thread a while back, here's the page for the game;
http://mars.spiders-games.com/frontpage

atleast there are a few devs who actually care about making quality RPGs, something we havent seen much of this gen

i hope this comes out for the xbox i love a quality rpg :)

Yeah, they're looking for a publisher right now. I hope they get one, because the game looks really cool. They have some background info on the website if you look around a bit; it's pretty interesting so far.

yeah, its never good when devs can not get publishers. i can think of a couple of times when they cant find 1.
warhound was a game that i as super excited for but it was cancelled because of no publisher.
free radical also suffered becuse they couldnt find a publisher

Ah, so we won't see it until the second half of next year. I'm good with that. Because I was planning on bumping it in favor of White Knight, Valkyria Chronicles and Demon's Souls.

Game looks pretty interesting. Hope the developer knows how to hype the game. Some gamers will miss the customization but I don't mind since it helps set the game apart from Mass Effect.

Wow. I still am not very interested in the game. Maybe when it gets a publisher then I'll be able to say whether I'll be interested or not. :p

Aww, well did you at least read some of the history on the website?

Not yet. One reason I replied though was so I don't lose this article. I have work in a few minutes so I needed to find a way to keep this from falling into one of the later pages in the gaming threads.

Mars is my favorite planet (next to earth) so it seems like it might be something I'd be interested in. It's just that Sci-Fi RPG's have never really been my niche. It depends on how it plays though.

I know, Mars is awesome! To be honest, the setting is a huge reason as to why I'm interested in the game. Plus, they've come up with a cool idea as to how the environment affects you.
