For those who need some numbers to get convinced:

According to this source, a 480p widescreen stream using the H.264 codec requires 1700 kbps of bandwidth, or 212.5 KB/s.

Even if they allocate only 40 MB of memory for the streaming buffer, this is enough for more than 3 minutes of video. If your connection isn't stable enough to keep this buffer from running out, you have much bigger problems than your Wii's specs.
