It was up to you to determine your own pacing, in-between each main event you had new info coming up each week and non-main story via social links. The mystery unravels slowly which is great since most JRPGs throw you lots of new info at a single time which makes it hard to fully understand it. All other SMT games I´ve played were great in that department as well. Tales have many plot twists but they are generally dumb and childish for my taste. SO does a good work though, even though its stories are so-so. LO was mature and had a great story, pacing was good. Sadly I still got bored because the 2nd part of the story blew it (and its very slow gameplay). If anything, FFX is perfect in the story/plot department. More JRPGs should be like that. |
P3 had a good storyline but the one the blew me away the most was Digital Devil Saga 2. SO3 does a good job as well. ToS has some plot twist that would not impress but ToA and ToV storyline was amazing with ToV having quiet a few mature plot twist and events but thats just my opinion though. Xenogears does it the best out of any rpg that i have played.
