Introducing the Hype Defense Forces charter.

Mission:

To defend the developers and the fans of the great games from those who would seek to devalue or damage the work or enthusiasm of others.

Articles of Hype:

1. Those who seek to attack the miscreants of hype shall never be permitted to use verbiage such as "fanboy" to address them because such unspecific language can be insulting and hurtful to a large proportion of the innocent population as well. Instead they must call their names specifically whilst using non confrontational language to attempt to correct bad behaviour. "I feel that... when you said that... it made me feel..." etc.

2. Exclusive games are wonderful things for platform owners. To use them as any more than an invitation to other gamers to try out your favoured system is a fools game. To use an exclusive to attack others devalues it and causes others to attack and resent the game. You cannot praise the good work of a developer in one sentence and devalue his good work in another by using it against others.

3. Never describe a game as "The best" unless you have some extremely strong evidence to back your statement up and the statement you make is specific. By stating a game is "the best" you merely paint a target onto it and similar to the article above you may end up devaluing it.

4. Understand that not all people responding to how a game reviewed, sold or is recieved on the forum is attempting to make an attack. With every new game there is a period of evaluation where people with different perspectives examine the results of a significant game release. It is in this discourse where long term opinions are formed on games and diplomacy is the better part of valour under these circumstances.

May the wisdom of hype guide you.

Ok, now for my unreal prediction:

Someone posting in this thread will join the Hype Defense Forces as the leader.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

As for the caption
"Hey guys! it looks like I got a Lewinsky!"

Hey guys I think we should all try to convince Snakey to keep the "Real Talk" show going. I believe that "Talk" competition will force progression. Just a thought...

@city17

I did tell him that

I will continue to make UnReal Talk till I'm on this site

but its even more fun if there is some competition!
