Well, he's wrong about FFXIII not releasing in Quarter 3 or 4 because Square already said it was releasing in 2009 in Japan, so that makes it a PS3 exclusive this holiday season that will boost the PS3's holiday sales. GT games, it hasn't been confirmed but we've been told its coming sooner than expected from Sony. And at least 2 of the GT games have been released in December, so there's a strong chance GT5 will also be released this December.

      According to VGReleases, FFXIII is confirmed for a Quarter 4 2009 launch in Japan, and the Western versions will be released in Quarter 2 2010.  I have a very good feeling it will be released in Japan around the same time this year that WKC was last year and a good chance it could be released on WKC's one year anniversary.

Yes they say it "may" affect it

but S-E's "may" usually means....definetely especially if the "may" is being used for a possible delay!

      If MS has enough influence with Square to get them to bring FFXIII to the 360, then surely Sony has enough influence (and considering they own 10% of the company) to have enough influence to get Square to bring it out on the day they want it to come out.   Sony has been on a big roll in Japan this year and I'm pretty sure they want that to continue in the Christmas season so they don't have another year like last year pr wise and if you look at their release schedules in past years, they enjoy doing things on anniversary's or similar times of the year (see most GT's releasing in December and God of Wars in March).  Sony had a big rpg release last year with White Knight Chronicles in late December that gave them the boost they've been riding the past several weeks and I'm sure they have every intention of replicating it with FFXIII this year.

     If Square wants to make it up with its Japanese fanbase, then they have to let Sony have an influence with them because their games on 360 just aren't selling enough for them to continue letting Microsoft have an influence on them especially not over there.  If White Knight Chronicles (a relatively low-rated RPG in Famitsu by the second string rpg developer in Japan) can do much better than The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, and Star Ocean 4 over there, then as a PS3 exclusive SO4 would have done at least 500,000 in Japan much as Yakuza 3 has done instead of fizzling out and struggling to make the 200,000 mark as SO4 has done on 360.

I know I totally agree with you

but SQUARE is showing NO SIGNS of improvement

the first actual game they are publishing on PS3 isn't even a game.....its a FF7 Movie + FF 13 demo

maybe that will herald the beginning of their support
