You are correct, if you want to say that there is far too little acceptance for criticism in users here and I certainly don't want to exclude myself from that as I know, that I'm not the best in handling criticism things I do enjoy, but this isn't a one way street.
From my view much of the criticism that is voiced here and is "just" at it's core is worded and presented in an aggressive and forceful way (ah yea and the injust criticism ofcourse even more so, as it has to be very aggeressive to make any "point), that pretty much kills any possible room for discussion and hence makes it hard to reach an understanding/agreement on things. Another problem I see is the constant reuse of the same points of criticsm, as after some time you will have heard them all so often, that you just feel like they are part of some sort of mantra.
One way to handle that certainly is to ignore it as you seem to mean with your "we don't need to defend Sony" (not literally qouted) attitude and which is the approach I usually favor aswell, especially because I'm not perfectly confident in my english.
The more stupid threads and comments are the easier they are to ignore for me, but when threads try to seem objective, but are atbest half-way there with the other half being pure bias that is used as "facts" or "arguments" with conclusions that are formulated in an absolute way it gets hard to ignore to me and I sometimes can't help myself dropping some sarcastic line or atleast a "well, I do enjoy it" (which in the course of the thread is totally ignored), if it's a topic that is of interest to me.
Personally I admire people who are able to extract the just core criticism out of statements, are able to accept it honestly and to argue against the injust parts and aggressiveness in a polite way effectively bringing the whole matter to a level of discussion with their responses, because I find myself to be inapt to do so far too often.
