Ok, I work at best buy and all this talk is just crap from some disgruntled employees. As far as looking at customers like they are dollar signs is also crap. The rule that Best Buy sets is that every customer should be contacted within 30 seconds of entering a department, or if they get within 10 feet of you. They don't stipulate whether or not you have money, nor do they look for it. You might have problems finding help if you are in cd/movies/games because those areas are often considered self serviced. Or if the store is understaffed (which is what is currently is like.)
As far as the price matching dispute, it's not true. Best Buy will take anything, in fact, if you ask you can almost always get them to lower the price of a tv to pretty much cost. If you actually look at the price matching policy, it has exceptions, like how it's not aplicable to items of limited quantity. Also it can't be honored if the competitor in question is out of stock for obvious reasons.
While I will be the first to admit Best Buy has it's faults, and trust me, I know the faults better than any of you after working there for 5 years. It is still a pretty good company. Just think of it this way, if there was no Best Buy, Wal Mart would own the big box electronic's segment, and nobody wants that.
