Also I´m not sure rugby is more popular on a worl wide level than american football.
How can you even say that? I mean, c'mon. Rugby has at least gained so much popularity as to have international contests held once in a while. American football is practicaly non-existant beyond US boundries. Rugby on the other hand is played on a national level on 3 different continents. That makes it popular in my book anytime.

All I can say is here in germany we have an american football leage, never seen rugby near germany. Elephant Polo also has international contests, doesn´t make it that popular though.

its soccer you know the game where they only score maybe 3 points a game tops. and then they run around the whole field as the announcer yells goal for like 5 minutes. if this is more action then american football please please go see an actual game. in person not on tv. tv has way too many tv timeouts ive seen both in stadiums and have to say american football is WAY more exciting.

I was shocked Henry went for so cheap, he was in my opinion one of the best, if not the best player in the premiership.

Most american sports are dull to watch, they need time to fit in at least 100+ ad breaks and 25 trips to the hot dog stand per game :P

 As for the

Strategy
Athletisism
People getting slammed into the ground
and are completely team based.

Rugby? Ice hockey? Gaelic football?

And for a massive generalisation *sarcasm alert*

Most sports have strategy, just unlike the american football players, "soccer" players can think strategy and play the game at the same time :P

You americans with your lousy american football. The thing is so boooooooring!!! More break-times than actual gameplay. BTW, what idiot dubbed this game football, when foot usage comes down to only running around?

Also, mind that it's only the US that mistakes football with crummy rugby play. It's your....i dunno 150-200 million american football fans against 1 billion+ true football fans. Who has more right to the "football" title :P ?

More break time than Gameplay? Just because there is actual strategy and tactics in football doesn't make it boring. In fact, it makes it the greatest sport in the world. Tell me what sports have all of these:

Strategy
Athletisism
People getting slammed into the ground
and are completely team based.

There are no stars in football. The game requires a team that plays perfectly together. Soccer is pure athletisism. There are tons of sports like that already (Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, etc.). American Football is by far the deepest sport in the world. I watch the World Cup, and I love Strikers Charged, but in general I would rather watch almost any sport above it. There are like 2 goals a game (in a good game) and they let people tie. WTF.

Please stop. You're not helping out with talking such utter crap about what each game has and does not have. That third point of yours? Now that is like SO stupid. One would think that to take a ball from someone you wouldn't have to jump on him as if you wanted to break every single bone in his body. How about taking the ball not through greater phisique, but through smart field play, technique and never touching the guy? No strategdy in football? Please.  That's almost blasphemy you just spoke. I could go on and show you your "no star in teams" claim is total bs, but then again why should I. It would be better if you would just try to figure it out for yourself. Saves me the trouble.

Plus the italian players are great actors, when they fall and nobody pushed them, it still looks real, then the oscar winning crying scene starts.... so much drama.... wonderfull.

Too true duderino. That's why i'm grateful the in England they came out with new directives for refferees to give yellow cards to players that clearly are diving. We all remember how the fans reacted to Drogba's continuous "tripping"

No people getting knocked down in football :P

Yes

I must say that Materazzi was truly a genius with that provacation. An evil one, but nontheless a genius.

How can you say soccer is a no-contact sport, look at these guys, there is more contact there than in greco-roman wrestling :)

And of course my favorite foul picture of all time:

Oh, like an interception, blocked field goal, stripped ball, or an onside kick. Thanks for helping me with that.

I could list every player on the Colts starting offensive line, and tell you why they are important to the team. Sure, you could do the same in Soccer, but you only have to remember 5. I could list most of the defensive line too. There is a quarterback, but he's nothing without good recievers, blockers, and running backs. There are idiots who are arrogant and think they are everything in football just like in every sport in the world, but the good teams play well as a team, and don't have some shining star who takes the glory of the game for himself, rather than for the team.

Btw, that's a good point about the acting. I always loved watching that. Some of those people deserve oscars. I'll even give you that there is strategy in the game, and it's a bit harsh to say there is none, but not like in football. You don't have to manage the exact position on the field of 11 players at a time on each side. You aren't going to be able to change my mind about this Wojtas because unlike you I actually watch BOTH sports. Your knowledge is purely based on stereotypes.
